honestly think with the right marketing and timing the combination of L.A. and Orange County could probably support as many as 4 MLB franchises.

This will be an unpopular answer, but I'll say it anyways:

New York

Also... Anyone saying Florida...

Baseball is distant #3 here behind football (king) and basketball.

To go with what people have been saying about California: their high school and College teams are highly competitive, especially smaller schools (Cal State Fullerton, Irvine, Fresno) and they have 5 professional baseball teams

...it's massive Youth Baseball State.

California has won 7 Little League World Championships...that's 3rd only behind Taiwan (17) and Japan (8).

...and Dodgers and Angels with shite teams sell-out...while NY struggles.

Massachusetts could support a second MLB team if the Red Sox allowed it. (Hence never.)

South Carolina has to be up there. Every person I've met loooooves the Braves (MLB), and both Clemson and South Carolina have huge baseball followings. That doesn't even include some of the smaller instate schools that are damn good at baseball as well.

Coming from Louisiana, they like it more in South Carolina, not even close.

Idk exactly what its like in the western side of the side state, but growing up in St. Louis literally every kid starts playing baseball/tee ball at the age of 4 (soccer being tied/close second for most popular youth sport). football for most kids doesnt start til 6th grade or later... basketball probly 3rd or 4th

and of course Cardinals baseball is engrained into you from birth... Summer baseball (legion, travel, etc.) is also huge and it seems like Missouri has a million teams

theres no city that does playoff baseball like St. Louis

I'm from SC, and like one poster said I would put it towards the top.

However, I am going to have to go with California as whole. They're youth, high school, college, and pro teams are all WIDELY successful on every scale.

And the fans for the pro teams are awesome for the most part, and generate great support, and rivalries. If the A's didn't play in the coliseum I'm convinced they would have sellouts way more frequently as the product on the field is fantastic.

But yea...California.

lets not forget that california also dominates the number of high school all americans and number of players in the majors compared to other states
