Anything out of this asshat's mouth.

"fill thine horn with oyul and gyooooo"

"tha naaaaaytttiooonn" (in a whiny arse voice"

and any other moronic saying he comes up with.

Any time Olney says "according to a source".

"we just had to essecute our plays"

Any strategical question that has an answer starting with "we just had our faith in god"...I get it and I respect it, but I doubt god had much to do with you making a buzzer-beater from 5ft behind the line or hitting your slot man in stride.

ESPN drills the expression "very latest" into our heads pretty bad.

"Here is the VERY LATEST on Brett Favre"

"That was Tom Rinaldi with the VERY latest from State College"

"Latest" doesn't need a "very" in front of it...

"the eye test"

Definite phrase of the year.

quote:

It’s time to dismiss the notion of doing anything based on the “eye test.”

The “eye test” means you’re judging, and that means you’re giving your opinion. Once that happens, it’s over for a sport who's national champion needs to be determined by proof and facts.

College football is supposed to be better than the 2007 New York Giants. It’s supposed to be above the idea that a championship is won by a tournament that destroys the importance of the journey. It’s supposed to reward the regular season and acknowledge it, and not simply go by thoughts.

And Alabama failed the only “eye test” that mattered.

2011 National Champion LSU 9, Alabama 6.

We don’t know that 2011 National Champion LSU beat Oklahoma State.

That, we needed to see with our own eyes.

"Defense wins Championships."

As if the offense isn't equally important.

I really hate "found a way to win" in place of frickers just getting lucky.

For example: Kicker for Team A misses a 25-yd field goal to win a game. Analyst says, "Credit Team B and their players for finding a way to win!"

"The key to the game is controlling the line of scrimmage."

That is the key to every football game, ever. And you still hear it before every football game, ever.
