Playing 3rd in a high school baseball game. During a long inning, I lost track of where the runners were.

With 2 outs, I fielded a hot shot down the line and stepped on third then tossed the ball behind my back towards the mound and ran off the field (thinking the bases were loaded and it was the 3rd out.

Just before I made it to the dugout I got my arse chewed by my coach saying the runners were at the corners.

Had to go back on the field with my tail between my legs.

I hit a home run my Junior year and tripped over 1st base. It was bad..busted my face all up. It was on YouTube for a few years

Looked a lot like this

Wouldn't call it "sports" but I also had my swimsuit get pulled off while tubing. Bunch of girls on the boat and one of them I had a huge crush on. It was April and the water was fricking freezing.

Yeah that sucked

I was an outfielder in college but had caught some in HS so was sort of the "emergency" catcher. Circumstances conspired to put me behind the dish in a conference game, and I hit our pitcher in the back trying to throw out a runner trying to steal second.

There's a chance the scorebook is in my dad's attic somewhere. If I ever come across it I'll post it w/ the alter I'll surely have to use.

you played for Va Tech? nice

im shocked they let student athletes play intramurals they dont let them at LSU

They stopped letting the football players play intramurals except for basketball by the time I graduated.

When I first went, VT had team handball as an intramural sport, water polo, etc and you can only imagine the carnage, so they said only basketball and games like horseshoes

Remember getting my first call to the bullpen. My first warmup toss was absolutely the worst thing I have ever done in my athletic life. I airmailed the ball about 25 feet in the air.. Me and the catcher just started dying, I wanted to jump in a hole.. Still do

Middle School track. My coach fancied me a sprinter. In the 100m, pistol goes off, textbook start out of the blocks, after about four strides I look up to see nothing but backs. The backs steadily got further away, and I finished dead last. Someone in the stands was yelling, "Run, white boy, run." No more sprints for me.

Middle school. Dove into a ditch face-first during recess to catch a far-lobbed foul kick. I couldn't slow down once I dove for the catch and had the perfect angle to dive into the ditch.

I had to go to class the rest of the day too.

But my favorite was in Jr. High. We had the football coach for PE. He just wanted us to sit outside at the covered picnic tables. I was bored, so I raised my hand and said, "coach" can I run a lap.

He let me go run it.

When I came back he said, good lap! Now, why doesn't EVERYONE run a lap?

So I made my whole class do laps. Hahahaha.

I am proud of that to this day.

Football sophomore year I was on the kickoff team and got blind sided on the opening kickoff against Woodlawn to the "OOOOUUUU" of the crowd then the African American player stood over me and said "GET SOME WHITE BOY!"

But our kicker who was a lot smaller also got it bad and was on cox 4 hit of the week and starting crying when he got to the sideline so that made me feel better

I don't remember what soccer tournament it was but we were in the finals against the same team we always faced and always lost too. It was tied 1-1 with like 5mins left. We won a corner and I was sitting on the edge of the box far post, just in case it popped out. Well the corner gets sent in and it was near post. Goalie and everyone attack it. Goalie just gets his hand on it pushing it over everyone's head but sends its straight to me. Goalie is on the ground and everyone is bunched up near post. I'm the only one far post and the goal is wide open. The ball starts rolling to me in slow motion. I start thinking omg when I score this we will win. We will finally beat them and win this cup. And I'll be the one that did it!

I start to position myself, take a step a and rip the shot. COMPLETLEY WHIFFED. I didn't just miss the wide open goal. I missed the ball! I was able to get the ball back but not my dignity. At the end of regulation, few minutes later, I got subbed. Coach brought fresh legs to take my spot in ET and I didn't play for the rest of the game. Pretty sure we ended up losing too. I don't remember much after that miss except for replaying it in my mind a billion times

Playing catcher in high school baseball. It had been raining that day and the ball was wet. Set up to throw out a runner trying to steal 2nd and air mailed the ball similar to Rube Baker in Major League 2. Needless to say it caught the center fielder a little off guard and damn near rolled all the way to the fence.

My Freshman year we were up 24-1 in the 2nd inning of a baseball game. We are in the dugout clowning and having a good ol' time when one of the Seniors yells,"Knock it off, they may come back and win!". We all got quiet and then everyone busted out laughing. By the end of the third we were down 27-24, and ended up losing 37-33. This was in high school baseball. After the initial onslaught my last four AB's were 0-4 with 4 K's.

Kerry Kittles lit me up for 60 points in an AAU tournament. When he exited the game I finally hit a three pointer to cut their lead....

to 79.

That team featured Kerry Kittles, Randy Livingston, and Scottie Thurman (who hit the game winning 3 over Duke to give Arkansas a national title in '94).

I remember Kittles kicking me in the chest (inadvertently) on an alley oop off the opening tip. I knew it was going to be a long night and realized how much different the speed of the game was with elite D1/NBA talent.

I got redemption in '99 when I had the opportunity to guard Allen Iverson when I was a featured extra for a commercial for the NBA on TNT (Allen Iverson's cross over dribbling camp). I got incredibly lucky by sticking my hand in and knocking the ball away from him while getting some B roll footage. I stole the ball and was on a 2 on 1 fast break (with another actor) and I threw the ball behind my back, hit him in the chest, as the ball went out of bounds. The next several possessions Iverson, totally, and I mean completely kicked my arse.
