What is the logical argument for Bama > Auburn?

7 days ago they played and it was clear Auburn was better.

Why has that changed?

Auburn didn't have much left in the tank for Georgia coming off the Iron Bowl; if Bama would've had to go to Atlanta, why are we assuming they'd have done any better? They'd have been just as beaten up as Auburn, PLUS they weren't as good as Auburn 7 days ago.

Logic only please.

The SEC West is a round robin. Everyone played everyone and it was determined that Auburn was #1 in the division.

As an exclamation, they SOUNDLY beat #2 in said division 7 days ago.

Comparing just these two teams, it's as clear as it gets.

Well, LSU had more SEC losses, needed a historic comeback to beat Auburn and had that Troy black eye.

And?

#1 they played head to head 8 days ago and Auburn clearly was the "better team"

#2 auburn clearly has the better "resume" and is the more "deserving team. Auburn is 2-2 vs teams in the playoffs....Bama's best win is #15.

#3 if "number of losses" is the criteria then UCF has zero.

Bama was put in by the EsPN jihad, just like 2011. Since the day the midget landed in Gumpville ESPN has served as his PR agent.

Auburn has 3 losses Alabama has 1. The playoff is not about who did better in the sec it's about getting the best 4 teams.

If we hadn't blown it against LSU, I'd say we'd have a legit argument. But we didn't and then got shite on by UGA, so there's really no way to get around having 3 losses. It fricking sucks, but it is what it is

Why are we still using # of losses as the primary way to value a team?

Using your logic, UCF is a 0-loss team, so they should be #1 right?

Auburn played 4 games against top-4 teams
Bama played 0

Auburn beat Bama head to head, DECISIVELY, 7 days ago.

It was a one possession game in the 4th quarter, and Alabama played their worst game in a several years. It was @ JHS which is an absolutely hornet's nest.

The committee saw this, why can't you? Take your Bama hate glasses off, son.

The box score + the eye ball test said that was a decisive win. Take off the crimson glasses.

Obviously I don't like Bama. But I'm being objective here. I didn't like Ohio St getting in last year over a Penn St. team that beat them head to head AND won their conference. I know the ugly losses to Pitt and Michigan hurt PSU...maybe I'm old fashioned but I just think division/conference champs should get the benefit of the doubt over these 2nd place divionsal finishers who get to rest on Conference Championship Saturday.

22 days ago, Auburn decisively proved they were better than Georgia with a 40-17 win against them in Jordan-Hare. 24 hours ago....Georgia proved they were better than Auburn with a decisive 28-7 win over them on a neutral field.
