They won the WCC last night and clinched a birth for regionals. Is the NCAA going to force a regional to start on Thursday because of this?

Sounds like BYU should just forfeit the Sunday game.

Note: BYU fans are melting down on Twitter responding to Kendall Rogers.

Jimmies rustled...

I thought in the past the NCAA changed the schedule for them.

I understand and appreciate their stance, but I think they should forfeit if they don't play on Sunday. The schedule should not be built around one team because of a stance they have. With that being said, some regionals/Supers start on Thursday anyway.

God isn't real. Suit up when the game is scheduled or forfeit.

Normally regionals start Friday/Saturday. They usually don't start Thursday.

Kendall Rogers told them to suck it up, which I agree with. He also pointed out that schools like Dallas Baptist have made exceptions.

They molded the entire BCS formula to include Norte Dame, so why not BYU?

The NCAA has already said they will honor BYU's request to not play games on Sunday, and change the schedule around Sundays

Uhh, that had everything to do with football, and not arbitrarily deciding to not play on one day of the week.

That being said, I would KILL to see a late Saturday game go into Sunday.

Hopefully BYU will go 2 and out and not make it to Sunday anyway.

What they should do is have whatever regional BYU is in go back to the old format. 2 games Friday, 3 games Saturday, then 2 games Sunday. Ideally, BYU doesn't make it to Sunday and this is a non-issue.

Kendall Rogers tweeted that the NCAA should tell them to play on Sunday. His mentions are a trainwreck now with people telling him he's a bigot

As someone pointed out, Utah plays on Sunday and Utah has a ton of Mormons.

This is a BYU school policy directed by the administration stance on their school mission.

Not an individual player's faith issue like Koufax had.

I think the NCAA should only have to respect an individual's right not to play. I mean a school can have a myriad of reasons to not play on certain days...this is an exception that says its more important than other exceptions which the NCAA won't honor. It's the NCAA endorsing the Mormon administration's mission policy.

You know the NCAA moved up the Utah Regional in softball don't you?

Utah also requests Thursday Saturday placement in basketball

Steve Young played football on many a Sunday, and he's like Brigham Young's great, great grandson.

You can't change an entire baseball regional around just for one team. No one is forcing BYU to play on Sunday, they can forfeit if they like, it's up to them.

I'm all for being accommodating as possible and if it's possible to play Thursday through Saturday, go for it. That being said, an organization should not change their rules to facilitate one member.

BYU is not hosting so it's really not their call. If all teams agree to play Thursday through Saturday then perfect, if not they should have to forfeit as unfortunate as that may be.
