Going for a two there is really not as crazy as these announcers seem to think

Between Lowry and the 2 fouls committed by GS...this has been some shite professional basketball. It's been exciting, though.

The Warriors have played over 1/7 of the season without a loss.

Raps down 1 with .24 left and ball (no to's) they should have just held for the last shot. Not getting a better chance to beat GSW than that

Let's say he lays it in. 7 seconds left. Foul at 6 ish. Maybe 5 seconds left down 2 or 3. Plenty of time. It's fine if it works. It's dumb since he went right at a defender and got owned. The decision to go for 2 is fine on its own though.

Yes I get that they have no timeouts. They can go the length of the floor in 5 seconds just fine.

I also think they should have taken the last shot on the prior possession but not sure a weird offensive foul was in their plans. If they get a quick, good look, it's worth taking it. Extend the game with a miss.

The bigger problem I have with going for two, is that even if you make it, GS is probably gonna get the ball to Steph who is gonna make both free throws. Then you're in the same position you were just in except with 5 seconds instead of 24.

Well the idea is presumably to deny steph and play for a missed free throw. If you let them get it to steph again, you have failed. If they make both free throws regardless of who it is, you've failed.

On the fly, though, Curry would almost for sure get the ball. He's so quick that it's hard to keep it out of his hands.

Hard to execute all that when you haven't been able to talk to your team since 1:23 left in the game.

Thompson is also very good from the line. You have to figure they're going to make two. And then you basically can't win, because they'll foul you.

You go for the three. Because either you'll get a shot for the tie, or they'll foul you to prevent the 3-point attempt, and then you'll have a chance to get within 1 with about 6 or 7 seconds left anyway (same as if you drove to the goal to get a quick 2).

I think they should have gone for three. I just think that going for two was "not nearly as crazy as the announcers thought." I see what Lowry is thinking and why he did it. A lay in there is by no means a death sentence.

I think Lowry figured they would give him the lay up which is often the case there. He was surprised to get met at the basket IMO which was the death sentence

I can't believe TJ McConnell is a starter in the NBA as a rookie. I thought maybe he had a shot to grab a bench spot after toiling in Europe or the DLeague for a few years. I don't know if it's a credit to him or an indictment of just how shitty Philly is right now.

He will go back to the bench once Kendall Marshall and Tony Wroten are back

Philly has been playing teams tough they just can't pull one out.

I think we have a different definition of "playing teams tough."

Here are the amount of points they have lost each game by:

Game 1: 17 points
Game 2: 28 points
Game 3: 7 points, (was down 21 points with 4:30 left)
Game 4: 4 points, (actually led with 1:30 left)
Game 5: 6 points, (down 14 points with 2:21 left)
Game 6: 8 points, (down 4 points with 0:27 left)
Game 7: 23 points
Game 8: 16 points
Game 9: 17 points
Game 10: 9 points, (was down by as much as 18 pts in the 4th)
Game 11: 6 points, (took the lead with 5:12 left)
Game 12: 27 points

Average loss: 14 points

How many total minutes they have actually had the lead in each game:

Game 1: 13:52 - (last led with 08:42 left in the 2nd Q)
Game 2: 00:36 - (last led with 06:30 left in the 1st)
Game 3: 18:45 - (last led with 10:21 left in the 3rd)
Game 4: 16:17 - (last led with 01:30 left in the 4th)
Game 5: 01:12 - (last led with 00:17 left in the 3rd)
Game 6: 07:41 - (last led with 05:09 left in the 2nd)
Game 7: 04:12 - (last led with 04:08 left in the 2nd)
Game 8: 09:47 - (last led with 08:32 left in the 2nd)
Game 9: 10:51 - (last led with 06:50 left in the 2nd)
Game 10: 00:48 - (last led with 10:48 left in the 1st)
Game 11: 02:02 - (last led with 04:43 left in the 4th)
Game 12: 03:29 - (last led with 06:16 left in the 1st)

Total minutes led in 12 games - 89.5 minutes
Total minutes behind in 12 games - 465.8 minutes

The have never led a single second in the 2nd half in 8 of their 12 games and have only had a lead in the 4th quarter just twice this year

Dude, they suck. They are fricking garbage
