These long overdue former champions have struggled recently who will win first

Brazil in the World Cup
New York Yankees
Dallas Cowboys
Montreal Canadians
Los Angeles Lakers
Nebraska Football
ND Football
Michigan Football

I say the Yankees as they are looking good and young so they will challenge for the foreseeable future
The Lakers if they get PG13, Lebron and whoever else next year of course

The Yankees just won in 2009 and the Lakers were back to back in 2010. Hardly what I'd call "long overdue".

I will preface this with saying I don't believe 7-8 years is a long drought (Yankees and Lakers). If I had to choose a team on that list, I would think the Cowboys will be contending for a championship first.

This is now the Yankees fourth longest drought and will be third after this October
Third longest drought between World Series Appearances

Longest drought since the Wild Card for missing the playoffs

That sounds horrible. How do Yankees fans feel with it?

A lot of them became Mets fans to return back this May after Terry Collins threw all his young pitchers' arms out

Yankees, just because absolutely anything can happen in baseball. Teams can get into the playoffs at the last minute and just catch fire.

Yankees look to be really good soon. Cowboys are already very good and I expect Brazil to be solid next year and great in 2022.

I'll go with the Yankees winning one before 2022.

Is this a list of teams every real fan hates and every douchebag casual affliction wearing fan loves?

I'll go with one not mentioned yet. Michigan football. Harbaugh may be able to get them going. Notre Dame was just in the championship game 5 years ago, but Michigan seems to me like a good pick.

Pains me to say it but I think the answer is the Cowboys. They're pretty damn close.

Jason Garrett and the postseason do not go well together.
Head Coach since 2010
Assistant coach since 2007

Pretty much has been one and done every year.
Cowboys have not seen even a NFC Championship game in over 20 years.

Most NFL Super Bowl winning coaches are not the type to have horrible postseason histories than break through. I may be wrong but I do not think so
