What are the performance criteria in a typical MLB pitcher's contract?

If a pitcher signs a 5 year $50 million contract and in the second year just pitches horribly and is sit down does he continue to get his entire pay? It would be cool to see the performance clauses.

Guaranteed contracts.

They only have performance BONUSES.

Just following Nola's game and it came to mind. He is the best pitcher on a bad team.

Yep. Sandoval getting released by Boston, and he is owed nearly $50 million, whether he ever plays again or not
