high and far doesn't do very well at htown ... anyone see the plane flying around over the course? ...

That wasn't in reference to just his round today. I thought the same thing before his impressive run started late last season. He always seems like he's on an emotional roller coaster.

I am with ya now.
I think he handles himself well considering everything he has gone through personally. Never really noticed the highs and lows....but will look for that.

Merion was tricked up. The USGA wanted to protect the course, as they all so often do.

Man, Dechambeau almost put himself in the thick of things but that 5 foot miss is gonna cost him big time.

I think he'll be content with a top 10 finish. He won't have to use one of his exemptions to play next week.

just read he gets an additional 2 starts that do not count against the 7 he gets for special exemptions - the memorial and the quicken national loan ... he'll be playing a ton of golf tournaments trying to avoid the web.com finals ...

I have a feeling he'll have quite a few top 10's this season. His consistency and course management are really impressive.
If he has a 2nd place, a couple top 5 finishes and handful of top 10's, do you pick him as a wild card Ryder Cup captain's pick? Or do we get more Matt Kuchar and Jimmy Walker?

Did the linked article say why those 2 don't count? Jack's tourney may be an invitational. Not sure about the Quicken tourney.

LINK
a link is a lot of work for a sunday! ... finished my round at 9 this morning and am trying to recuperate ...
jack and quicken give exemptions for the amateur victory ... as they said on tv, he could get a $250k payout, or thereabouts, this weekend ... that is a massive start to $750k or so ...
edit: according to wiki, there are 5 tournaments that the tour has given invitational status to - memorial, arnold's, ben's at colonial, rbc heritage and quicken ... did not know that ...

yeah ... had a 6:30 tt, and my usual threesome did not fill because the other two decided last night to have a late night ... so i was alone, first off ... usually walk, but rented a cart and zoomed around in 2 1/2 hrs ...

Yep - he should make about a quarter million and not use an exemption.
Great start to a golf career.

Followed Bryson's group Thursday and Friday, certainly handles himself like a pro. Easy to root for too.. Treated the gallery well, especially the kids.
ETA: also has some amazing shots in the bag. His "bullet" drive is 300 yds and never gets 15 feet off the ground
