New poll is out no surprise who is up top, but I would have put Richmond at 1
Somewhat surprised EWU wasn't in top 5
I think Coastal should not be ranked as they're not eligible for post season
MVC has 5 teams
SLC has 2 teams
1 North Dakota State (1-0) 4067 (137) 1
2 Richmond (1-0) 3860 (21) 4
3 UNI (1-0) 3699 (5) 5
4 Sam Houston State (1-0) 3627 2
5 Jacksonville State (1-0) 3535 (1) 3
6 Chattanooga (1-0) 3004 6
7 Charleston Southern (1-1) 2937 7
8 Eastern Washington (1-0) 2849 (1) 14
9 South Dakota State (0-1) 2641 8
10 Illinois State (1-0) 2584 10
11 McNeese (1-0) 2352 11
12 James Madison (1-0) 2350 12
13 William & Mary (0-1) 2195 9
14 Montana (1-0) 1994 13
15 Citadel (1-0) 1667 15
16 Portland State (1-0) 1539 17

21 Colgate (0-1) 600 21
22 Villanova (0-1) 554 23

JVille State about to be 2-0

Stop they're not either. Just because LSU lost for 1st time in 52 times people are being stupid.

I know this. I wouldn't doubt if they hung around for three quarters though.
Is anyone going to dethrone NDSU this year?

Yes sir I think they get beat in playoffs this year.
They may lose Saturday actually.

How is NoDak ranked. Lose to Stoney Brook and show no life on offense. USD is going to roll them in a couple of weeks. FHawks going to start 0-3.

The top 5 IMO should be
1 Richmond
2 UNI
3 NDSU
4 EWU
5 (tie) Jax St/Sam St

2 UNI
3 NDSU

Whose dome is that game played in this year?
Posted on 9/5/16 at 12:15 pm to SoDakHawk
Better question is how the hell did Eastern Washington jump from #14 to #8?!?! I realize they beat Washington State, but DAMN! That jump is purely for beating an FBS (PAC-12) team and nothing to do with how good Wash St is (or isn't) this year.

I'd put South Dakota State higher. Watched them on Saturday. Two great wide receivers and a QB who can make plays. Made Gary Patterson's defense look like arse for 3 quarters.
If their defense can just be average they can contend for the MVC.

It's at the Alerus in Grand Forks.

You answered your own question, plus some teams ahead of them played down and home. The FCS poll usually is fluid, which is why I use STATS as official. They have writers commissioners former coaches and more voters.
The ESPN Poll to me is garbage as its SID who don't watch games just see scores.

Wrong, In the MVC you have to be better than average on Defense to contend.

That's my point though. That's a crap reason. Not downing their victory, but I don't think a 3 point win over Wash St merits a 7 spot jump. Wash St may be 3-9 when it's all said and done. They'll be 1-2 when Oregon goes into Pullman, and I don't see many wins from there.
Guarantee you McNeese will not jump even 2 spots if we beat USL this Saturday, unless something else happens in the FCS to make it happen, or we blow them out by 3 or 4 TDs. Nor do I think we should make that kind of jump, but man, that's crazy.
As to your other comment (regarding weekly threads): I liked they way you did it last year. Keep up the good work. It's nice to be able to talk FCS football.

ND St. definitely didn't look as sharp as they normally do.
I wasn't able to watch the game but I'm told McNeese looked fairly decent. Took a quarter for them to get going, but I guess that's to be expected when a new coach, new offense are all installed. Was also told the defense looked strong as well.
I'm excited about Saturday. Hope they at least keep it close with ULL

EWU at NDSU
Montana at UNI
Two really big time FCS match ups this week. Montana kind of struggled at home, should be interesting to see how the bounce back against a UNI team that just won at Iowa State
I am not sure what will happen with NDSU-EWU game. Going to be interesting to see how NDSU approaches Kupp. Meanwhile EWU was a team last year that gave up a ton of rushing yards, we'll find out for real where they are on that front this year.

That Eagles/Bison game should be a good one. Looked like NDSU had some serious rust against Charleston Southern, but they pulled it out against a good team. Would love to see what they would do regularly agains the likes of the WAC and ESPECIALLY the Sun Belt. Maybe shut some of those knuckleheads up.

NAU got crushed by Arizona State as kind of expected.
Go to Western Illinois this week and have EWU coming up.
