Newest poll released. Some thoughts. First unanimous 1 since Appy St. The MVC and CAA each have 6 and Sky has 3, SLC has 2. McNeese was punished harshly for losing at home. UNI seems to ranked fairly. The polls seem to be starting to form into a playoff bracket mentality already, as they are being somewhat fair. Using just this poll McNeese would go to EIU for a 1st round game. The winner to play @ Sam St. NDSU would get the winner of Portland St @ Youngstown.
1 North Dakota State (3-0) 4175 (167) 1

Some unbelievable and ridiculous stats about NDSU
Since 2011 they are 74-5
They have beaten every team in the top 17 (except JMU, Citadel, and Chattanooga, who they have not played) since 2014, think about how ridiculous that is.
The Non Con schedule this year is Charleston Southern, Eastern, and Iowa. All ranked in top 15 at time they played.

Any of them play the FBS this week?

Western plays NIU
Delaware St plays Mizzou
UCA (who should be ranked) plays Arkansas St in a rivalry game. It should be in Little Rock, but stAte bitched out of playing there after UCA almost beat them as a D2 team.
SMS plays K State

I'd be surprised, at this point, if we make the playoff. Our O-line does not look good. Our strength was the run game last year, and we are damn near 3:1 pass to run. The O-line has been manhandled so far. Young and undersized.
I thought the drop was harsh, but I think they just don't like us. If UIW is as improved as they seem to be, we may be plum out of the poll next week.
I wouldn't be shocked to see us at 6-5 at the end of the season. Just looking at us right now, I'm not sure that we beat Sam, SELA, or Central. Hell, Nicholls may be a tough one, too.
We are young, but with ALOT of potential going forward. Most of our offensive guys are Sophomores or Freshmen (Dylan Long is a Senior and Kent Shelby and Darrius Crawley are Juniors). Two senior offensive linemen.
The growing pains suck, but the future is bright.

I don't think we are quite that bad... Maybe 7-4 on the year. We were the better team Saturday against SFA... we lost on mistakes and missed opportunities.. things a young team does. I thought we played ULL tough but just couldn't get the breaks to go our way against them. I think we will get better as the year progresses... I do agree that we may not make the playoffs this year with another couple of losses but I'm hoping for the best!

I think 4 losses from any conference not named the Missouri Valley you have no shot unless you are the auto qualifier. There is chatter the Valley may get 6 teams this year, which I can see after seeing the polls.

McNeese needs to start winning again so there is some movement in this thread
Posted on 9/22/16 at 11:26 am to sms151t
Just wait for Nicholls to win this weekend and start making some real noise. The colonels will come
Posted on 9/22/16 at 12:17 pm to sms151t
If we win the next two in a row, there will be a lot of talk going on in 3 weeks before the McNeese game.

Man if the Colonels play anywhere close to how they played against Georgia they will leaving Ladd-Peebles with a W.
