Rough looks brutal out there. Gotta avoid the sand too. There is a shite load of sand out there.

I love the sand out there. Its so perfect and easy to hit out of. So different that normal bunkers

So its not like that rock hard Webb sand where I can barely get my club in to get the ball out

Just took my first steps since I took myself out the game temporarily! It's golf related because I was using a shitty wedge we have lying around the office as a cane

ETA:also the doctor told me not to take the bandages off til Friday. Didn't listen

Huh? Webb has stupid fluffy sand that plugs any shot that isn't loaded with topspin.

Every time I play it it seems to be after a rain the day before and the sand is all fricked up and hard. They don't even do a quick fix or anything.

But, yeah, when it is soft the ball plugs big time out there.

I thought bunkers were there to penalize bad shots

They are in a sense. But if you've got the game for it, bunkers are easier to hit out of than deep rough....assuming you're not plugged like a fried egg in that trap.

Being in the sand meant you had the huevos to hit your shot to the green, and not layup like some bitch who can't piss in public unless they're sitting down in the middle stall with nobody to the left or right.

For other recaps about the dangers of poorly placed shots, stay tuned to the Week 30(is) of 52 of 2013 Golf Thread, brought to you by,

They tore L'Augusta to shreds. Not a long enough course for them

ETA: or maybe they caught one of the 3 or 4 days where the wind isn't howling out there

L'Augusta, where the wind is strong, the beer is cold, the paths are limestone, and the greens roll like perfectly balanced Michelin XGV size 74-R-14 tires

Could you be any more vague in your description of the greens?
