Here's a good R9 Nitro story with a dash of affliction.

We got paired with this doucher the other weekend who loved to talk about how far his tee balls were. After every tee ball "That was CRUSHED! PERRRRFECT!" He was name dropping. Taking an awful lot of four to five foot gimme putts and miraculously getting some free drops and mulligans.

Anyways, my buddy is a good player, but he is just money with his driver. Not overly long, but straight and piercing ball flight every time. So the guy just has to hit my friends R9 SuperDeep because he thinks it will magically catch him up to my friends drivers.

I tell you what. Ole boy gives it a once over and a practice swing, then steps up and hits it deep on a long par 4. He gleams with pride and envy. And says "How much?" with a dead serious face and a nervous laugh chuckle thing. My buddy throws out a "surely he wont pay this price" of $200. And the guy was like "Damn. I got 200 in cash right now."

Keeps mentioning buying it to my friend like its a done deal. So we come to 18 and my friend says if you get there in two you can buy the driver for $200. We were playing 590 with two big trees blocking the landing zone left and right (opens up way left). He steps up and pipes one exactly 299 (cart GPS told you drive distances from tees), so we give him good a razzing about not being able to hit 300, and telling him to hit the weight room. He's got 290 in and pulls DOTD.....and tops it.

No driver for ole boy.

Beave was one of the first players I had a "holy shite - that was long." reaction to when playing with him.

You built up your expectations too much. And LaDitch was in full force at that point.

Both kids I played with at Shell Landing were stupid long too.

I meant to hit my friends R9. That thing looked nice. It suited my eye.

He bought his new for like 180 or something a few weeks ago. He also had brand new (I picked them up for him) Mizuno HP4 blades. fricking gorgeous.
