Yeah. I have missed hit putts before but never whiffed when trying to hit it. Was he standing far away to avoid someone's line and reached awkwardly? That is the only fathomable way I can conceive of

if the putter was never grounded i believe it is not considered a stroke. you could stand over your line and make stokes in the air without touching the ground without penalty

Sounds like a chappy design if guys are purposely aiming for a different fairway.

Consider the c-taper. I had similar prob for years, made the switch, will not be switching back. Love my new irons.

Eta: having them yesterday with the wind was tits

Not exactly true. If he intended to hit the ball (club grounded or not) it is a stroke. If he made no intention to actually hit the ball then it is not a stroke.

I think this is right but doesn't it really boil down to the players intent to hit it or not which only the player really knows?

NC, were you at 3 yesteday when Calc nailed the guy with his tee shot?

I was on the green. Terrible shot. He made bogey on the hole. He felt bad and sent a ball back when he was on the fourth tee.

You'd think it would mess him up pretty bad. I was on the left side of 18 when Keegan pulled his drive yesterday.

I just covered the back of my head and shielded oleander with my calf.

Yeah, I knew he signed a ball and sent it back. My friend at work is the Hole Co-Captain for 4,5,6 and was working 4 tee all week. He talked me into moving to his holes this year instead of 10 like I had been doing. That's a pretty far hike back there!

It hit him on the arm above the wrist. Medics were called. I'd say if somebody ripped a ball at you from 30-40 yards it would hurt. In two days I dodged 5 or 6 balls. Closest was about two feet. A couple of spectators were also missed by about a foot. Waited for the players to ask if anybody was hit. Then say maybe.

Damn. 30 to 4G yards could have kilt someone.

I would never stand that close
