I don't know how I haven't seen this movie before, but this is a great documentary, one of the best I've ever seen. So many touching, and heartbreaking moments. Great look into inner-city, black life in the '90s.

Sucks that neither made it to NBA, but it seems like both turned out to be good, decent people.

All of this.

Thread should be 18 pages. Will likely be 2.

And it wasn't even nominated for Best Doc by the Academy.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 99%. That's one of the highest ratings I've ever seen them give out.

I feel old watching that doc. I was 10 years old when it came out in 1994.

Would get more replies on the movie/TV board. It has very high praise on there and deservedly so.

It was one of the best movies of the 90s and one of the best sports movies of any genre ever made.

Late cameo by Howard Nathan, who ended up at NLU when he left DePaul.

William's brother and Arthur's dad have since been murdered. It really shows how unfortunate their circumstances were.

Arthurs little brother has since died as well. He battled diabetes his whole life and finally lost his battle. Williams two sons play college ball now. I also got a chance to see William play for Marquette when they played at WVU back in the mid 90's.

Those public league Chicago games were wild. Like you knew a third of the dudes in the stands had money on the game and a piece on them
