Was Bill Polian fired because he wouldn't draft luck?

Any Colts fans want to chime in here? To me it looks like Irsay wanted Luck and he knew that Bill Polian and his son would be a problem so he canned him.

His drafting has been pretty shitty lately, hence why that team was THAT bad without manning.

Seems fishy to me considering the timing of Bill's hiring in 1998, the day after they locked up the first pick.

They need a fresh start. I am betting Peyton won't be far behind even if healthy. Not sure who the candidates may be but I'm guessing they go after Tom coughlin

Coughlin isn't the answer. If you're going with a retread, the best man for the job would be Jeff Fisher.

Polian was fired because outside of doing the no shite thing of drafting Manning, he has picked a mix between catshit and horsheshit in the drafts. They've gotten lucky on a couple of picks, but when was the last guy they picked that you could say was a great pick up for them after the third round? Who was the last big free agent they signed?

There's a Polian on the Stanford staff. Therefore, I would think the Colt Polians would be pro-Andrew Luck with the connection. Maybe it's Irsay that doesn't want to draft Luck?
