And that knife cuts both ways. A ton of people on this board will personally attack or stop watching an actor/athlete/celeb based solely on their political beliefs or actions. Plenty of people liked kap until he kneeled. People take politics as life or death. There is no compromise in this country

I'm not exactly sure why this was downvoted so much. I actually beleive the predictive nature of this post is at least somewhat valid, as the "swing voter" base has become increasingly miscategorized, incrementally smaller, yet increasingly important due to the extreme polarization, yet comparable sizes, of the right and left voters.
Equating GSW's decision with a 2018 midterms outcome is a stretch, to say the least, but the general spirit of this is valid, IMO.

Liberals can't tolerate disagreement or hearing ideas they don't agree with.
Conservatives have to learn to live with it to a degree, with the news and entertainment media in this country making it impossible to avoid hearing liberal talking points all the time.

Most people aren't very informed of what politics are actually up to, that doesn't change the motivation
