re: Vikings-Eagles game postponed

I don't recall the saints having a home game scheduled the day Katrina hit ..

In his press conference this morning, the mayor recommended people stay indoors unless they absolutely have to travel. Postponing the game is unpopular, but it is the right call for the NFL to make.

ESPN has a contract for Monday nights that prohibits any other NATIONALLY televised game. NBC has a contract to broadcast NATIONALLY. To fulfill both deals legally they HAD to move this game to Tuesday.

What's the NFL going to do if/when the SB in NY faces the same situation? The entire world makes plans to watch the game. Wonder if they're having second guesses with all the winter weather issues of the last few weeks.

When did it start, during the game or hours before? The storm being forecast for Philly sounds a lot worse than what was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. Clearly they do not shut northern cities downs for ice on the roads so when they do its an indicator that its abnormally bad weather.

Well I got some news for you bitch, I lived in Chicago for 3 years. The first year there they had record (at the time anyway) snowfall). During a blizzard in Jan one of those years, they closed the schools and shut down the airport for 2 days. Had there been a Bears game scheduled they probably would have postponed it. Calm down BUD!!!! If its that bad and the city is in shutdown then OK. Snow is great BUT[ FROM EXPERIENCE] it can SUCK AS WELL.

This game should be played, blizzard or no blizzard. There was a Pittsburgh game played back in the 70s in a total white out. If you were at the stadium you couldn't see a damn thing really. Some poster above was talking about Bradshaw getting stuck in a snow bank when he was sacked. That was that game.
