This rule needs some serious retooling.
The JSU QB takes a very late slide on an option run and the auburn defender tackles him and happens to hit the QBs head

That was a bullshite call. Helmet didn't even hit the qb.

That's my issue. I understand making a mistake in live time. It happens. To err is human. But damn if they don't look like a bunch of damn mouthbreathers when they see the video and still can't make a rational decision.

That was probably the worst looking view you could find too. In real time and the other views it looks like an even worse call
