Speak for yourselves, Demons finished 2nd in the SLC and took a series from Notre Dame late in the year. Our program is starting to build back up.

Sounds like NSU. UCA scored their last 3 runs on an error and 2 wild pitches

SLU lost in 10. I would guess we are out of the tourney. Riser must take after Maneri in leaving guys in too long for pitching. Best record ever and won't make the tourney.

Bring on football.

And once again the Southland will send a far inferior team to the tourney.

I think if you win the regular season you should host the tourney. Winning should count for something. But such is life and the NCAA. All about dem dollars.

Not rewarding the conference champion killed NSU's baseball program.

We were the dominate team in conference for a decade and only had 2 regional appearances when our teams in 93, 98 and 2002 had legit shots to make a run to Omaha. It sucks and it hurts the conference.

1993 - 40-18 - SLc Champions
1994 - 45-15 - SLC Champions *NCAA at-large
1995 - 37-15 - SLC Champions
1996 - 34-27
1997 - 35-23 - SLC Champions

There were a lot of factors, most of which are that baseball just grew up around NSU. It's pretty obvious that whoever was doing the hiring there had one of the best eyes for coaching talent. Up until replacing Gaspard really. Though Burroughs will turn that back around. Good guy and good coach.

Over half the head coaches in the SEC West coached there. I think the type of success that was had there was really unsustainable given the the emphasis that more schools in the south were putting on baseball.

In a way, NSU is kind of a victim of their own success.

I agree to that though I do believe we wouldn't have taken such a hit had we been to 10+ regionals and possibly a trip to Omaha thrown in (which was possible with some of those teams). The 98 team being left at home was a total disgrace by the selection committee.
