Final Projections

LSU - #5/5/5/?
SLU - #52/52/52/?
Tul - #43/43/43/?
ULL - #49/49/49/?

*LSU (48-10)(21-8) - SEC ruglar season Champs! Should have the #1 overall seed locked up. Dominant season!

*Southeastern (42-17)(25-5) - SLC regular season Champs but laid a dud in the slc tounament. With a low rpi, they will be left out of the field.

*Tulane (34-23)(13-11) - Huge back-2-back series victories for the wave. Memphis road series win WILL bump them off the bubble and into NCAA tourney. I think that their RPI took the largest jump in the nation over the weekend. They should be in the field.

*ULL (39-21)(18-11) - Cajuns win sunbelt tounament, auto bid to ncaas!

Riser is getting those boys to play. Pitching and relief pitching overall has been outstanding.

You can really see how well Jay Artigues recruited for this school. Southeastern has become a desired destination.

Lions were swept by a rebuilding Tulane team this year.

I'm not sure what his point is, but losing once in baseball isn't comparable to a 3 game sweep

very true, but does it change the fact that Southeastern is a good team? He throws in "rebuilding" to be an arse, but this is the best Tulane team in the last decade.

Well, it is a rebuilding year. First year with a new coach and a team that just doesn't have much talent. It's not the best team in a decade either

tFlagship has had a real up and down season. The good news is that our three freshman weekend starters are beginning to look really good.

nothing against Rick Jones' earlier success at Tulane, but he was holding the program down over the last decade. Tulane is better off now.

Name another since 2005, please

2006 and 2008 were definitely better and 2012 was probably on par. Finished on the bubble

Another conference series win over UNO this weekend should lock-up SLU's 1st ever at-large bid.

They need to sweep UNO. Even one loss would be very bad for their RPI.

I wouldn't call the Lions an at-large lock without a sweep and two wins in the SLC tourney. A 43-17 mark plus a conference title at 25-5 (27-7 total) would be hard to screw over.

Since the last CWS appearence in 2005, Tulane has been on a steady decline. Jones always blamed it on injuries, especially towards the end of his career.

Remember, Tulane is in a more competetive conference now with the AAC. However, I'll give you '06 & '08 for now.

So, to be more specific for you, This is the best Tulane team in 7 years,

Top four teams in Southland are Louisiana schools. Pretty cool, and any of them can with the auto bid.

they've been screwed before ('12 I think) due to playing in a weak conference. But, the SLC has made strides since then. Minus this season of course.

Oh I know. I think that NW State series win at Notre Dame last week is nice for the conference to have in it's favor right now. Could be a help to the Lions in the committee debates.

That Nicholls State is better than us. Shouldn't be a surprise.
