I can think of two calls off the top of my head already this season that I had no idea how the umpires came to their conclusion.

The real problem is the idiot former umpires in the review center in New York who will do anything possible to not reverse a call.

Dumb idea. Umpires have enough scrutiny as it is.

This is a terrible idea. It is what's responsible for the inordinate lengthening of college and professional football now. Totally unnecessary and will do nothing to enhance the game experience.

Well I would have liked to get an explanation of why they upheld that call just now in the Astros game (McCann at 2nd). I don't see how it hurts anything. We already wait 2-3 minutes, what's an extra 10 seconds. Plus, if it's anything like the NFL, we'll get a whole new crew of Ed Hoculis to make fun of.

They probably shouldn't ever give Bucknor a microphone...

Eh, in the Astros/Angels game last night, McCann was tagged out at second, replay looked as though he made the bag before the tag was applied. A simple, "Play stands, no conclusive evidence" explanation would suffice.

My major gripe with replay, and it may seem silly, is that effort used to be rewarded in baseball. Now, you can be safe by a mile, but come off the bag by a fraction of an inch and be called out on replay. I get that it's the rule and people want to get every play "right," but it removes some of the human element.

I've always been of the opinion that replay should mainly be used to overturn obvious and egregious mistakes. If you have to take 5 minutes to look at 10 different angles and super slo-mos, just go with the original call and be done with it.
