The funny part is, it apparently wasn't really news for his teammates. Its always like that. ?the people who are closest to you, they usually know. Example a friend of mine who was also a teammate decided to make a public announcement at a team meeting the coach held just so he could come out. We was like its about time, now is this all the meeting is about.

Ive had more friends/classmates who came out and it was literally not a surprise for anybody who actually know them. People worry about how it will cause problems and be awkward in the locker room. Unless the gay player begins to act differently and make it awkward, Then it won't be awkward. Unless Jason Collins goes into ?the lockeroom one day and says "oooh kg you so fineee. Truth how you doing boo. Ooh joe johnson yo penis is soo huge like omg" That doesnt happen. A gay player is just another player, and as long as he is there wont be any problems except for a few ignorants who dont know any better. But even then they will eventually come around
