It says the gay player watched the team's reaction as the coach said this. I took that to mean the coach wasn't really gay. If he were, that would be th bigger story, right?

Who cares? Why the theatrics on the part of the player, other than to get attention. He's a basketball player. He's gay. So friggin' what.

If Joe Blow in accounting was gay, we wouldn't have a company or departmental meeting about it with our CEO declaring that he was "gay" just to soften the blow. NOBODY would care. But, after the announcement, I'd make sure to leave my door open whenever he came in, you know, in case he tried to jump me for some gay lovin' or something, because isn't that what they do? I swear I hope one day some male professional athlete holds a press conference, walks to the podium and says"I have announcement to make. I love pussy" and walks off. I can't for the life of me understand why the media is making such a big deal about what gender someone prefers sexually. Unbelievable.
