So many of you are showing how little about fighting you know. DC wasn’t dominating and simply got caught with his hands down during the 4th RD when he was tired. Stipe was the better fighter tonight and won.

I guess the judges don't know anything either?

I am strictly going off the official scorecard.

DC didn't just get caught he was getting destroyed in the body. That slowed him down immensely and opened up the head.

Going into the fourth, judges scorecards were:
29-28
29-28
30-27

All in favor of DC....... Stipe made a great adjustment end of 3rd and 4th that DC couldn’t counter

Father time has caught up with DC. He now needs to retire.

Not sure how you could watch that fight and think DC lost because of his age.

Didn't see the fight but did see the outcome and I really thought DC would take Stipe again. Stipe proved me wrong, so hat's off to the guy for getting the title back.

From what I've read, it seems DC just started to run out of gas and didn't keep his foot on the pedal to press Stipe and that led to Stipe connecting more and getting the stoppage.

At age 40 and carrying the weight DC carries, it does get harder and harder to get, and stay in fighting shape as guys age. Perhaps it is time to hang up the gloves for the guy. He's been fun to watch over the years and has some big wins over some very good fighters.

That and, maybe I'm just seeing too much into things, but once the fight got into the later rounds, it looked like DC didn't have it in him to go through a five-round war. I wouldn't be surprised if during training camp he had been seriously thinking about hanging it up after the fight.

He was clearly winning the fight going into the fourth. Also had a huge edge in significant strikes.

DC didnt look normal after the 2nd round. Not sure what happened but even though he was winning he seemed to not have the energy he usually has. Maybe that played into why he didnt use his wrestling after the 1st.

I really thought he should have retired after beating stipe and going out on a high note, but I am sure these fights are big money for him now so he has to balance his legacy vs his bank account and his long term health.

I think there had to be some “I hit him with everything I had and he’s still there” fatigue after the second from DC.

Also saw where stipe made $750k flat fee for the fight and DC made $500k flat fee. Now that’s just disclosed purse so who knows what the back side arrangements were but I was shocked Stipe got $250k more. I assume DC got the majority of the ppv points but that’s just a guess

Stipe started digging that left book to the body in the 3rd round. Totally changed the fight.
