His arm had just been broken by the kick and he was visibly hurt. Chuck came in for the finish and that's when Rich landed the punch. Can't imagine him being able to go much more than that with his arm.

I see what you're saying. IMO, Still hard to say he was "almost finished", when he backed up into the cage, then brutally KTFO Chuck.

I would consider Kongo against Barry, Lesnar against Carwin, Smith vs Sell, or the 1st Rd of Edgar-Maynard II as examples of being almost finished.

I love Rich. Too bad he can't fight at 185 lb now. He can beat anyone not named Vitor or Anderson.

Yep. 185 was tough for him to make and after Silva beats your arse twice it makes the decision to move to LHW pretty easy.

Franklin would wreck Vitor, IMO. Got caught and the kill shot was blatant back of the head. If not for that one good shot, Vitor would mentally crumble like he always does.

Vitor is better than Franklin in almost every aspect. If they fought again, I don't see the result being any different.

i don't know about that. Vitor got some BAD losses to his resume. I'd say they're pretty evenly matched but well below Anderson. I'd still like to see Rich at 185. They would be some good matches with him vs Leben, Sonnen, Sexyama, etc...Plus Wandy vs Rich II would be fantastic.

What losses would you consider bad? His only losses are to the best fighters in MMA history. I'll take Vitors skill set over Franklins any day of the week.

Striking - Belfort
BJJ - Belfort
Wrestling - Even
Cardio - Franklin

Not that any of that matters, because we've seen the result already

too busy pwning fools on twitter. He's been called out and accepted fights with Shields, Condit, and Fitch. He also called Marquardt a cheater etc when he got busted and now this awesomeness:

Nate:

quote:

"Some of the fighters that think they're so cool and tough by kicking a guy when he's down – as far as my career, this has been one of the worst times of my life, and these guys are calling me a cheater and talking crap – I've taken note as to who those guys are, and I'm going to come for them. Eventually, I'll get them. I don't care if it's in a superfight or if they want to come down to my gym. I'll beat them up for free."

"I think you know who these guys are – Ben Askren, B.J. Penn, Paul Daley, Hector Lombard, cowards talking crap about a guy when he's in such a situation. They're trying to take advantage of the situation. They're bullies. Those are the guys I want to beat up."

"I'm not putting the blame on everyone else," Marquardt said. "Everyone had their little piece of fault, but I accept my part in the blame. The fault that I had, I take responsibility for. There are a few little things that if I could go back in time and change them, I wouldn't be in this position. There's things I'm doing now that will prevent this from ever happening again or ever becoming an issue.

"The truth is going to come out over time. It has already started to come back. I was under suspension for literally less than three weeks, and my suspension was lifted. I didn't get any fines. This hasn't happened before in this sport, and it shows that I wasn't cheating. I have hope. There are crap-talkers like B.J. Penn who want to kick a guy when he's down, and I would love to fight that guy."

BJ:

@natemarquardt I'll show up to your gym to fight if you do a drug test every week for 3 months. Winner Keeps the video. Lmk (:

that would be great fight (penn/nate)

i wouldn't give vitor that much of an edge over rich in striking. nevertheless, vitor won so it's moot point.

By using his superior striking to knock him the frick out. Vitors hands are so far a head of Franklins looping punches, it's not even funny.

Just watched this video and chael sonnen is hilarious. He talks a lot of shite. I definitely think that he gave silva all he could handle.

Thanks for illustrating my point. The killshot is BLATANT to the back of the head and Rich was DOA after that shot. It was illegal.

That being said, I do think Vitor is a much better techical striker, and I don't like Rich's looping punches. If it gets out of the 1st round, though, Vitor can't win a fight to save his life.

I think Sonnen v Rashad would have interested me more than Tito vs Rashad 2.

We'll have to agree to disagree. There's no way theyd be able to fight 10 times, because Vitor would probably kill him by the 5th fight. LoL

Franklin is a very good fighter, but Vitor has proven he is better.

Not really because Rich ducked his head into it and took it on the back of the head. You can't call that an illegal blow on Belfort.
