Is the UConn Women's Bball program the best program there has been in sports history?

It is hard to argue they are not.

The competition and money allocated towards women's basketball and sports in general is so lopsided the measurement is impossible to do in a ration manner.

Most colleges aren't spending a lot of money for top basketball coaches and staff's.. Look what happened to La Tech when Barmore left.

Baylor had a chance, but they haven't recruited well worth a freak since they had the transgendered chic awhile back.

Colleges don't give a frick about competing in women's sports; they only care that they have the opportunity to play.

No

If the Dallas Cowboys played in the BAFL (British American Football League) and won the Brit-Bowl every year 79-0...

Would they be the greatest franchise or program ever?

Context and competition matter - women's basketball is not like other sports for obvious reasons and talent pool.

They recruit a bunch of chicks with dicks, so it's no surprise they win...

Geno is a fraud.

Due to the lack of parity and money in the sport, I just cannot crown them.

They have dominated and not to take away anything from their success, but the lack of competition hurts them in this respect

There is a reason you don't see the same kind of dominance from any school on the men's side

No.

They would get killed. They wouldn't even win at DIII.

But in women's sport - women's basketball exacerbates the lack of athleticism among the general female population.

So the talent pool to choose from - of just decent players is about 1/100th of the mens talent pool.

And the truly exceptional players are about 1 to 2 dozen that are so much better than everyone else.

And UConn gets half of them.

Huh? UConn women would lose by 30 to any decent mens high school team.

UCONN has 11 titles, Tennessee has 8, and then 4 schools are tied for third place with 2 wins each (Baylor, LA TECH, Stanford, and USC). Besides UCONN, Baylor is the only one of those teams to win a title recently.

They are the best women's program of all time, but they aren't that far ahead of Tennessee as far as titles go.

Though it seems likely that number will increase over the next few years

UNC's Women's Soccer program probably has them beat. They've won 22 out of the 36 National titles I believe.

I hate them. It makes a terrible sport even more unbearable to watch.

Not sure how "if the Cowboys played in the BAFL" plays into this. Should we just start making hypothetical shite up for everything when we disagree? UCONN can only play the teams on their schedule, and they dominate all of them.

That says EVERYTHING about the sport.

If it wasn't for Geno - then Summitt would be GOAT and UT.

Sport is pre-conditioned for one or two teams to dominate - the paucity of talent is alarming.

You don't see such disparity in other women's sports that require skill - but basketball requires a high degree of athleticism and skill. So the females with higher testosterone levels totally dominate. Like the Olympics they should do a testosterone test because some women are born naturally advantaged to dominate average females in a sport rewards those with more testosterone immensely.

When there's only 1 to potentially 2 more teams that are really good in the entire sport, no you are not eligible for best ever.

A good men's HS bball team would wipe the floor with UConn. Are you drunk?

I would think UCONN would be at the point where recruiting would actúa get harder. I'd rather be a part of the team that took them down than join their team.

Not even close.

There are dozens of male high school teams that could beat them by double digits. They dominate because there is absolutely zero parity in that sport. The only two teams that have been good in women's basketball in the last 20 years or so have been Tennessee and UCONN.
