Under Armour and UCLA will announce a 15-year schoolwide shoe and apparel deal worth $280 million on Tuesday, sources told ESPN.com.

At those numbers, the deal would be the largest in college football history. In January, Ohio State said its 15-year deal with Nike was worth $252 million. Texas signed a 15-year deal with Nike worth $250 million in October, and Michigan signed an 11-year deal, with a four-year option, that could be worth up to $173.8 million.

Of all those schools, UCLA has gone the longest having not won a title in either college football or men's basketball, last winning the men's basketball tournament in 1995. UCLA has, however, won more championships than any other school, thanks in part to its excellence in softball, volleyball and water polo.

Officials for Under Armour declined to comment. A UCLA official could not immediately be reached.

Securing UCLA gives Under Armour an even stronger West Coast presence, as the company signed Cal just last month.

In the past few years, Under Armour has gotten more aggressive with college team deals, outbidding Adidas on both Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

UCLA had been with Adidas since 1999.

Bilas' schtick is getting old, but at some point the coaches salaries, conference realignment, TV deals, and apparel deals makes you and think that the NCAA should be wiped out eventually.

Does anyone know the cut that the apparel/shoe companies receive for merchandise sold? They're not throwing around this kind of money just to advertise their logo, are they?

I hope they don't ruin those beautiful football unis. UA easily has the worst football uni designs in the nation.

Although to be fair, they left Auburn's alone. Props for that.

It's crazy because their soccer and NBA warmup gear is (was) beautiful. I don't understand why they don't just incorporate their timeless shoulder stripes onto some uniforms? Is that barred by the NCAA or something?

How so? We've talked about this before. The kids are getting $100k plus in free room and board. Free medical care. Free coaching/training and most of all free publicity to show off their skills for their future employers.

Everyone else in this multi-billion dollar industry gets paid in dollars, fwiw.

Not to mention we're still playing under the same basic rules we had before the money came rolling in. That alone shows it to be an antiquated system.

Is UCLA's brand that strong? Wow, good for them regardless.

I've wanted Clemson to try to renegotiate ours, but I'm nervous about them getting changed. I'd take a deal with less money over some of the disasters Adidas creates.

yeah, adults with jobs.

These are teenage students playing a game in between going to class. They shouldn't be paid. If they are then what even makes them amateurs anymore?
