I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say I'm probably the biggest boxing fan on the board. I watch it EVERY Saturday and most Friday nights, even if it's just an old fight that I don't remember who won.

I struggled on whether to buy this fight because I thought one of two things were going to happen. Either Fury took it seriously and blasted Francis out in a couple of rounds or he wouldn't and it would be a close fight that the judges would protect the megafight between Fury and Usyk.

I see reading online and this thread that it was the latter, which is a black eye for boxing. These crossover fights need to stop because of what just happened.

We have youtubers drawing as much PPV money as a major battle between champions. It's become a joke.

Let's be honest. Tyson Fury is the #1 or #2 heavyweight boxer in the world right now because the best black athletes have gone to basketball, football, and other sports. He struggled with Ngannou because there aren't freak athletes like him in boxing anymore. If boxing was still the #1 sport for top black athletes in America like it was during Ali and Foreman's day, Fury wouldn't be anywhere near the top heavyweight boxer in the world.

Truth

Fury probably thought he could dance around for 4 or 5 rounds and let Francis tire himself out then Fury could toy with him. Probably the biggest thing Fury underestimated was his stamina.

What a bunch of race-baiting nonsense. The fight game, boxing or MMA, doesn't give one shite about skin color. Wilder was no less of an athlete than Ngannou and Fury took him out.

I don’t think Fury took Ngannou seriously and he got caught. Francis really should continue boxing professionally. He’ll be a legit problem for anyone and should be able to win a title because of how shite the division is these days.
