Turkey issues warrant for Enes Kanter. Claims he is member of Terrorist Group

"According to a report from AFP, Turkey issued an arrest warrant for Kanter, claiming that he is a member of a terrorist organization.
“A judge issued the arrest warrant after an Istanbul prosecutor opened an investigation into Kanter’s alleged “membership of an armed terrorist organisation”, Sabah Daily, a pro-government newspaper in Turkey, reported.
Obviously, this is nothing more than the oppressive government attempting to throw Kanter under the bus. It’s the way dictatorships push back against those who oppose their rule. Using what amounts to as nothing more than a state-run newspaper to make the claim magnifies this further."

I'm not a fan of him after his shite talking of Utah, but I hope the U.S. doesn't make him go back. Dude is finished if he does. Unless of course he is an actual terrorist, then he can GTFO.

Dude can literally never go back home now, just for being somewhat critical of a government that was, until very very very recently, among the most democratic in the Middle East.

Considering that our gov't did absolutely frick all a week ago when Erdogan's thug security beat the shite out of peaceful protesters and how Trump reacts to the word terrorist when these POS dictators use it as cover for killing their civilians I wouldn't be surprised if we sent him back.

this story hasn't really been reported here yet. It hit the Turkish paper this morning.
He had his passport cancelled by Turkey and Turkey officials told the authorities in the country he was in that Kanter was a person of interest

He's Hizmet, correct? I can see why Edrogan claims them as terrorists, but I don't think that jives with what we think when we say terrorist in the USA.

Last week was not a warrant or claims that he is a member of a terrorist group. Last week was the Turkish government invalidating his passport and trying to get Romanian and Indonesian airport police try to detain him.
Kanter will not be considered a terrorist by any reasonable government or organization and this should speed up his process to get fast tracked to citizenship in the U.S. as a political dissident. Besides he has a green card.

I wonder if he will be portrayed as some sort of political hero. Truth is he is probably the dumbest guy from Turkey in the league over the past decade and was probably extolling the virtues of Erdogan until 3 years ago, when there was the big split.
