What's it going to be like when McNeese outnumbers Tulane fans in your own home field 3:1?

Fantastic.
Anything to (sort of) fill up the Dome - seriously. Makes for a better game and fan experience.
Of course, we can only speculate on how many Tulane fans will actually show up for a contest w/ a D-1AA opponent two weeks from now.

2009 attendance according to ESPN:
(27,914 - McNeese St. @ App. State)
27,638 - Tulsa @ Tulane
26,224 - BYU @ Tulane
...
12, 235 - Henderson St. @ McNeese St.

So, your prediction is 3:1, McNeese:Tulane?
I guess you figure 12k+ McNeese fans...only ~4k Tulane fans...for a total of ~15k+ total fans?
Again, we'll see...

ETA - Fun Fact:
For its two home games, against Towson and Eastern Michigan, Northwestern has drawn an announced total of 37,096.
That's an average of 18,548. - Chicago Sun-Times

Yeah 15K. Because I'm sure since they're all sold out, no one else that doesn't have one won't try to get tickets.

The group I am going with haven't been to a MSU game in a couple of years if ever and I purchased our tickets from McNeese. Assuming we are not the only ones doing this other fans that don't miss games will probably just purchase them through ticketmaster or Tulane so I expect the number to be larger than 12,000. Are the players tickets included in that number?

Suspended Tulane defensive lineman Reggie Scott eager to return - Times-Picayune
- Scott, a sixth-year player, joined the first team this week after missing the first two games [...] because of unspecified violations of athletic department policy.
- "Reggie is a force to be reckoned with, " Toledo said. "He's a big-time football player, and we've missed him for two games. Would he have made a difference? I don't know, but he will make a difference from here on out."
- [...] was honorable mention All-Conference USA. He is converting from end to a three-technique tackle this season, a way to keep ends Logan Kelley and Adam Kwentua on the field with Scott (6 feet 4, 285 pounds).
- Scott won't start against McNeese State next week, but he will play early and often, Toledo said.

Toledo pleased with Thursday's practice following Wednesday's team dismissal - neworleans.com
- Tulane will have Friday and the weekend off before returning to the practice field on Monday, Sept. 21 for regular game week preparation. The Green Wave hosts McNeese State on a first time meeting between the two Louisiana schools on Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Louisiana Superdome at 2:30 p.m.

Tulane Football Team Can Expect Roster Shakeup - Times-Picayune
- Coach Bob Toledo is aware the Green Wave's first two opponents - Conference USA standout Tulsa and then-No. 9 Brigham Young - were strong tests. But he isn't content to see more of the same from his team, either.

- As many as 12 positions on the two-deep depth chart will change during the open date leading up to the game against McNeese State on Sept. 26, Toledo said.
- "Our mantra is we're going to get better this week, and we're either going to change the plays or change the person," Toledo said.

- The biggest lineup changes seem to be on the offensive line, where both starting guards have been demoted. Left guard Harris Howard lost his spot to freshman Zach Morgan, and right guard Tyler Rice was benched in favor of freshman Hunter Howden.
- "We might put two freshmen in there to play. . . . It's not easy. Young guys make mistakes. But if they're playing hard and playing better and not giving us penalties, you have to give them a chance to play. If someone isn't performing, we're going to put someone else in, and that's what's happening now.
- Offensive line coach Mark Hutson said it's not ideal to start freshmen, but it should help the line.
"It's difficult for a freshman to play at this level, especially on the offensive line. There are so many calls, different defenses that teams play, " Hutson said. "So it is a challenge for those freshmen and the other lineman who have to work with them. . . . With the open date, they can get more reps. By putting them in the first group, it increases the repetitions with them."

- Other positions may have new faces against McNeese. Griffin is challenging Kevin Moore for the backup position, and the reserve receiver slots could be shuffled.
On defense, injuries have forced Toledo's hand in changing backup positions at linebacker. The return of Corey Sonnier, a defensive back, and linemen Reggie Scott and Rich Bell from two-game suspensions also shook up the depth chart.

- "We're tired of them making mistakes and not paying the price, " Toledo said.

Tulane Football Coach Bob Toledo Throws Team Out of Practice - Times-Picayune
- Tulane football coach Bob Toledo is doing about everything he can to get the attention of his under-performing team and its 0-2 season start. The latest - just minutes ago, he tossed the team out of practice because he was unhappy with the Green Wave's effort and performance.

- "This is a Division I program. When a head coach does that, he's saying something to the team and it's not good. We just have to be ready, we have to come out tomorrow and show the coaches that they can depend on us as football players" [said linebacker and team captain David Kirksey].

- Toledo has threatened the starting jobs of several players and instituted a tough love policy in practice where mistakes cost the team five push-ups.

- "They didn't want to be out there and they weren't performing so I had to do something," Toledo said. "Actually what I was going to do is I was going to start practice over, I was so mad, but all my coaches were leaving and going recruiting. So the next best thing was to get them off the field. If they don't want to practice, get them off the field."

As a fan of both Tulane and LSU...

LSU pays Tulane to end series early - ESPN
- The mutually agreed-upon end of the series between the Louisiana rivals, announced Wednesday, came as LSU wanted to either play all of the remaining six games at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, or end the series in the interest of creating flexibility in its schedule.

LSU paid Tulane $700,000 buyout to end football series - Times-Picayune
- That's what LSU paid Tulane to forego the final six games of a 10-game home-and-home series that will end with a game Oct. 31 in Tiger Stadium, associate athletic director Verge Ausberry said Thursday.
- LSU also will pay Tulane $650,000 for the game this season as part of the original contract.

Tulane, LSU Mutually Agree to Discontinue Football Series - neworleans.com
- Tulane University Director of Athletics Rick Dickson announced today that both Tulane and LSU have mutually agreed to discontinue the football series following the 2009 season...
- ...and the two teams will play one more game in New Orleans at a future date.
- Tulane and LSU will square off in the 98th meeting on Oct. 31 at Tiger Stadium.
This season's contest is the fourth in a 10-game series signed between the schools in 2005.
- The Tulane-LSU series dates back to 1893, the first year of varsity football for both schools.

Tulane Athletic Director Rick Dickson Reacts to the End of the Tulane-LSU Football Series - Times-Picayune
- Dickson said Tulane received a settlement from LSU and walked away "satisfied" but did not disclose financial terms, as per University policy on contracts.
- Tulane is working on several future series, one of which would fill the LSU void. The Green Wave signed a four-year contract with Ole Miss that begins next year. Three other series are in the works for the next five or six years involving Big East and ACC opponents.
- "There's no hard feelings. I understand their desire to play and some of the opportunities they get to play."

'One way street' with LSU Not Good Enough to Tulane - neworleans.com
- The impetus for cancelling next year's scheduled game to start the season started with the desire of LSU to face North Carolina in the 2010 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic in Atlanta on September 4 on a weekend when LSU and Tulane were scheduled to play.
- The final nail in the coffin of this storied series was the expressed desire of LSU Director of Athletics Joe Alleva to play home games to create revenue for the money machine that is LSU football.
- LSU wants seven home games per year. Under that scenario, there is no way that they could possibly play Tulane in New Orleans.
- Former LSU Director of Athletics Skip Bertman had signed a ten-year contract for LSU to play Tulane in 2005, including dates in New Orleans. That mindset at LSU has clearly changed.
- It is not in our best interest with anyone[...]to have only one-way relationships. So because of that, we had to go in a different direction," said Dickson.

Hey Tulane guy, do you happen to have any idea why Tulane and LaTech don't play? We've got series with your fellow C-USA teams Southern Miss and Houston, but can't seem to lock anything up with the Green Wave. It'd be some fun travelin' down to New Orleans and back for a little back-to-back or somethin'. Any insight as to why this hasn't happened? I know Tech's administration has hinted a bit at wanting to play you guys.

No idea - perhaps others have more insight.
Many Tulane fans would certainly prefer scheduling/playing Dooley's rising La. Tech team over the likes of ULL, ULM, D-1AA McNeese, etc.

FYI: Tulane is 8-0 all-time record versus La. Tech .

Yeah, and we've only played once since World War II, that one year being during Tulane's 12-0 campaign. It WOULD be a lot better than scheduling the 1AA teams in this state. We could've had you guys on the schedule instead of Nicholls this season.

Tulane football coach Bob Toledo's weekly press conference from the Wilson Center - Times-Picayune (Video)
Quotes Following Tulane Football Coach Bob Toledo's Weekly Press Luncheon - neworleans.com

Tulane in same spot as last year - neworleans.com
- One year ago, Bob Toledo's Tulane Green Wave were impressive in September, losing competitive games to nationally-ranked Alabama (20-6) and East Carolina (28-24) before defeating ULM (24-10) and SMU (34-27) to go 2-2. Then came homecoming. ....
Tulane's season effectively ended that day in an embarrassing, horrifyingly bad effort in a 44-13 blowout loss to a bad Cadets squad.

Tulane Green Wave freshman Shakiel Smith seeing a lot of playing time - Times-Picayune
- Smith (from Edna Karr HS) is someone Toledo knew would immediately contribute to the program. But the Green Wave staff never visualized the 6-foot, 185-pound high school cornerback playing linebacker or playing on every non-offensive snap.
- As a senior at Karr, he intercepted eight passes and made 72 tackles.
- "I thought he would be a major contributor right away because of his physical attributes," Karr High School Coach Jabbar Juluke said. "Most of the coaches on my staff here played college ball, and we know that the intensity level is real high. You have to have a lot of energy to play college ball. And that’s how our practices are. It was non-stop for Shakiel."

Tulane running back Payten Jason likely out for season - Times-Picayune
- ...freshman running back Payten Jason's patella tendon likely was torn on a late fourth-quarter illegal hit against Marshall, Coach Bob Toledo said.
- Jason was horse-collared by Kevin Perry on the play, and his left knee buckled. He twisted to the turf in pain.
- "He'll get an MRI (exam) tomorrow, and they just told me he'll have surgery on Monday, " Toledo said. Jason likely will miss the rest of the season.

Chris Granger/The Times-Picayune
Tulane's Payten Jason is brought down by the shoulder pads by Marshall's Kevin Perry
- and illegal tackle - on Saturday in the Superdome.
Jason was injured on the play.

Um...I was cautiously optimistic about the Marshall game.
Thought that there might be a Homecoming factor - especially after 2008's terrible loss and devastating injuries.
Oh well. It will not get any easier for Tulane.
A tough stretch coming up w/ Houston, @Southern Miss. and @LSU.
