6:00PM
Middle Tennessee (2-5) at Liberty (6-0) - CBSSN
Rick Stockstill has more lives than a cat but surely needs to have a better 2nd half of the season if he wants to make it to season 19 in Murfreesboro. Liberty is undefeated and will be the favorite in every game remaining on their schedule but unlike in years past their SOS has taken a nosedive as a member of CUSA. THey need to start blowing out teams if they want to get that G5 NY6 game.
6:30pm
Southern Miss (1-5) at South Alabama (3-3) - ESPN2
Southern Miss has lost 5 straight since opening the year w/a win against Alcorn but the last 3 have all been close games that were winnable. South Alabama had high hopes going into the season and looked like a possible NY6 G5 team but losses to Tulane, James Madison, and Central Michigan (coached by shark enthusiast Jim McElwain) have dashes those hopes. They can still win the SBC West though so they can't afford a slip up.
Western Kentucky (4-2) at Jacksonville State (5-2) - ESPNU
Game of the day which is something I don't think anyone would have thought at the start of the year. WKU's only losses have been to Ohio State and a close game at Troy. They have Liberty next week so they can't get caught looking ahead. Jacksonville State is one of the surprises of the year as I don't think anyone would have expected Rich Rodriguez to be at 5-2 and playing well enough that media members would be starting to call out the NCAA on it's ludicrous no bowl for transition teams rule.

Is your sound choppy or surging?

I have it on mute at the moment b/c my 2 year old boss demands his music right now.

I don't think anyone from CBS is watching this game or they would call in to their broadcast center and say OUR SOUNDS F#CHED UP.

Defensive holding on a 3rd and 7 run play. We're having fun now.

The Belt is more compelling than CUSA, but I’m afraid the CUSA games tonight are probably better.

ESPN2 listing Southern Miss’s 1-5 record twice is just brutal
Posted on 10/17/23 at 6:48 pm to TomRollTideRitter
I think the Jaguars 3-3 record is listed twice but the Jags logo is kinda blocking it.

USM QB just fricked over his WR hanging the ball in the air for so long.

Yeah the graphics are all fricked up for this game right now. If ESPN is going to dominate CFB rights they need to actually give a shite about the game production. It’s been a noticeable drop off this year. Basic shite like getting the graphics wrong and camera work that looks straight out of high school AV club is unacceptable.

The worst I've seen this year was the ESPN+ broadcast of the Southern Miss game at Arkansas State. Cameraman wasn't even following the ball on long passes or punts or kickoffs.

This the same Alabama that beat the Okie Pokies ?

South Alabama beat oSu earlier in the season.

They beat the hell out of them I saw the sports on the local news and thought it was funny.

So is Will Hall going to make it to next year? This is a bad step back in year 3.

I don't know. I'm usually slow in hopping on the fire the coach bandwagon but much of the fanbase seems to be ready to move on.
