Just days after he was released by the Baltimore Ravens in what could be an NFL career-ending transaction comes more sad news with Trent Richardson.

The former No. 3 overall pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2012 told ESPN’s Shelley Smith on “E:60” that his family and friends spent $1.6 million of his money in a period between January 2015 and October in 2015.

During that time, Richardson was cut by the Indianapolis Colts and later by the Oakland Raiders. He discovered that people were using his name to open accounts with Netflix (11 of them) and Hulu (eight) and even order bottle service by dropping his name at clubs, even though Richardson doesn’t drink.

Richardson signed a fully-guaranteed deal worth $20.5 million over four years with the Browns in July 2012. He told ESPN that he isn’t broke and can support his immediate family but has shaved off some major costs, such as removing his brother, Terrell, as Richardson’s $100,000-a-year personal assistant.

Growing up with a bunch of people in a shitty situation, and having to basically cut them out of your life? I mean I've done it for various reasons, but it doesn't make it easy.

I mean it's as easy as saying, "Yeah you can still be my boy, but I'm not putting you on a payroll."

Tyron Smith did it right and cut out literally his entire family after he gave his mom like a $400K limit on a house and she called back and said she wanted one that was $750K. It's not that hard and Tyron Smith will be set for life because of it. It should NEVER be difficult to cut someone out that is trying to take advantage of you.

Should've shaved off some major dreads and he would still be in the league.

Dame I feel bad for the guy. Doesn't sounds like he was blowing money on things he didn't need he was trying to help out the people who helped him to get where he was.

in some cases it's not about taking advantage. They've green up and been together their whole lives and wrongfully expect their status to be elevated as well.

No shite. Netflix is less than $10 a month.

Sad, but not sad. In this day and age, this shite is unacceptable. 15 years ago, thesee kids didn't have the awareness of how fickle their careers were, but it is preached and preached today.

Sadly, that's not the mentality in these poor communities. They use. If you can get something for free, you are doing it right. Even if screwing over your homie and meal ticket. That part is sad, but Trenton should now know who his real friends are.

Maybe he shouldn't have given it to them.
