Personally, I would quit worrying about which teams have college coaches recruiting the kids, and put my kid on the team with kids my son will be friends with and going to school with. Put him in the situation that will benefit him, not yourself.

Your son has never played sports and you are worried about college recruiting and championships?

How old is he?

Find him a good rec league to play in. He should not be anywhere near these travel teams.

College Recruiting??

It sounds like your 7Y/o is ready for the draft man.

Training camp starts this week, I'm sure and and NFL team has a spot open for him

SLYFA is a great league. That's the league he would play in if he played with Jr. Broncos. Both of my boys came up through their programs. Coaching was good and competition amongst other teams was good.

Most importantly, find a coaching staff that is committed to developing your son's character and mental toughness. Not always determined by wins and losses at that age.

My only affiliation was with SLYFA. Good luck to you and your son. Faith, family, academics and football.

Don't put a beggining kid in the lyf league. That's where the head busters play. That's the inner city.

Slyfa is more of a traveling league around the outskirts of the parish. It's competitive. Competitive to the point that playing time is not guaranteed.

Zachary has found or five bronco teams.

If your kid is new to the sport, check out ymca or Iso flag.

It's the nature of this board. Just ignore the responses that don't answer your question or you'll drive yourself crazy. I'm not a BR native, so I don't have anything to add, but welcome to the board.

If you have to ask on this board he's probably not good enough, he would already be on a team.

I need to go check these cats out you keep talking about. Bring me to a game or practice. We scrimmaged the most beastly looking team I've ever seen from scotlandville last year.. And we skull drug them all over the field. Horrible coaches too. I'm game whenever you want to bring me, pimpin.

I'm one age group up. I think there's a lot of insurance stuff to go through to have a scrimmage. I'll check into it though. I got your email. What team is it?
