Let's be real honest. If you were an owner or GM and these 3 guys plus Dungy were available, all in their prime, who would you hire?

Mike Holmgren hands down. Would you a rather be a fan of Mike Holmgren-coached teams (1 SB win, 3 SB appearances, 12 playoff appearances, 13-11 playoff record) or teams coached by Tony Dungy (1 SB win, 1 SB appearance, 11 playoff appearances, 9-10 playoff record)? The answer is pretty obvious.

So can we say the numerous white people with shaky credentials who have gotten into various Hall of Fames did so because they were white?
Dungy is a media darling and very likable

He's an ignorant bigot who for some reason thinks it's his right to counsel any NFL player with transgressions, despite the fact that he couldn't even counsel his own son.

was going to post this and also mention that he did build Tampa into a Super Bowl Contender, which deserved a lot of credit. He was also a pretty could defensive coordinator and assistant coach as well. It is definitely not an affirmative action vote.

It's amazing the narrow-minded views some people have about minorities and their accomplishments. His performance and accomplishments speak for themselves.

Sure he deserves it.

But because the HOF bar consistently gets lowered each year.

Holmgren, Cowher, Schotty, Shannahan, Johnson - all better get into the HOF too. Because they have better cases.

And that's what it has come to...

You used to have Walsh, Landry, Gibbs and Knoll.

Now you have Dungy, so now we have to have maybe Schotty and definitely Shanny...totally Holmgreen and Cowher and everyone else who was better than Dungy.

So, this era now has to add about 6-7 coaches to be fair...that can't compare to the coaches who were in before from the 70's and 80's.

The hall of very good keeps getting less good and more "who the media likes" - see T.O. exclusion.

Maybe but I would lean torwards no

Dude had some great teams in Tampa and never could beat philly

I don't know how many people remember but tampa's defense was awesome for about 7 or 8 years there with sapp, brooks, barber, lynch etc

Jon gruden came in and put together a average at best offense with no stars other then Keyshawn and won it all

And I'm not a gruden fan either I thought he sucked after the Super Bowl
