I want to see him fight Edgar first, then perhaps a rematch with Aldo, then move up.

Having not watched the fight, J figured this was a thread with gifs mocking the fight. I didn't know the fight was so short so JI couldn't imagine the entire fight would make a reasonable gif.

He got caught. Might happen again, might not.

Ask JDS.

That was either very good refereeing, or very lucky not to be an early stoppage. He was jumping in as soon as Aldo hit the canvas.

I think it's the former. You could see Aldo go stiff when he went down. He was definitely out.

ETA: Actually, the more I watch it the more I second guess myself. His legs definitely locked up, but it looked like he was somewhat back by the time he was on the ground.

He was back but he wasn't in a state to defend himself. CM would have fricked him up if the ref didn't end the fight.

Looks like he trips/momentum makes him fall and then the other dude jumped on him and knocked him out?

I've never seen anyone get knocked out from a sideways hit to the jaw.

I thought the ref stopped it early too until I saw multiple angles. He was done.

You can't take anything away from one punch that while not fluke to land(perfect timing) was a total fluke to knock Aldo out.

Ideally Aldo moves to LW gets a fight against a bottom of the top 10 LW, Connor defends against Frankie, then win or lose moves up to LW and fights Aldo for #1 contender

Thats not going to happen. If McGregor goes to LW he will have an instant shot and jump all contenders. An Aldo/Edgar rematch probably makes more sense, while CM fights winner of Dos Anjos/Cowboy.
