I didn't make an active decision to only watch live sports on ESPN like many here.

It just happened over time as I wasn't interested in watching the debate shows and didn't care for the new Sportscenter anchors and found myself watching less and less until it was not at all unless there is a game on.

Same.

I watch live sports, Baseball tonight (RIP) and once in a blue moon SVPs SC.

But instead of getting back to basics, ESPN is apparently doubling down on what they're doing

What good would "going back to the basics" do when going away from the basics isn't the primary reason why viewership is down?

No extent.

I quit watching ESPN years ago. And they fired all the wrong people so that only ensures I will never watch again. (except the occasional football game)

All the anchors you like left? You mean all of your anchors turned left (politically).

I turned on ESPN satellite radio today about 2 hours before the draft to catch up on draft news. Literally the first sentence I heard was something to the effect of "many people are uncomfortable with the idea of a young strong black man taking control of his destiny and blah blah blah". He was talking about the UCLA kid Ball . I turned the channel until the actual draft came on. It's just Race grievance 24/7. Can't watch it. NFL network I can watch.
