Cavs cant sign Love for a max deal in 2015....you cant have 3 max players anymore I thought? He would have to take less than the max to come to Cleveland
i don't think there's a limit on max players, but with salary cap constraints, it makes it quite difficult with more than 2

All reports are that Love would sign with the Cavaliers next season

I love how this is somehow become a foregone conclusion over the last few days.

Well the Cavs have 2 2015 1st round draft picks they can work with in a trade plus Bennett, Thompson, Waiters, and a 2017 1st round draft pick

i will never understand the devotion to Kevin love. I like him. I think he has an interesting skill set as a stretch 4 and great rebounder. But he's bad defensively and he's never played in a freaking playoff game 6 years into his career. Blame the t-wolves front office, blame the western conference, but a top 10 player can elevate his team to an 8 seed once in 6 years.

I really think that love is the great white hype. People want so badly for him to be awesome so white fans can have a white superstar. And I'm white! I just don't care what color skin my NBA star has, as long as he's dominating.

Look at his numbers.

Look at their roster.

Look at where they play.

I say keep Wiggins....I think Bennett is showing he can atleast try and fill the hole the Cavs are trying to get Love to fill. They already have Kyrie and Lebron. Let the seaon play out and if you still want Love, then do a sign and trade in 2015. Im not giving up Wiggins with what could be just 1 yr with Love. Im not taking that gamble

Wow. Good luck finding a team that has drafted shitier players than the TWolves. They aren't a team that top free agents are going to go to so they have to draft their way to the top. You can't get to the top by surrounding one of the best players in the league with top 6 picks like Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn, Wesley Johnson, and Derrick Williams.

Also, Love has started 282 games and has 256 Double Doubles. The main concern I would have is his injury history. He has missed more than 20% of his games in 6 seasons.

hes a stat stuffer on a bad team until proven otherwise. He's gotta be the most unaccomplished unanimous top 10 player in NBA history. The NBA is all about the post season--hell over half the teams make the second season-- legacies are made in the playoffs. I just think everyone gives him too much credit since he hasn't accomplished anything of note in his career.

If you're of the opinion that Wiggins is a huge gamble then yeah do the trade. I like the upside of someone like him playing next to Lebron.

Lebron + Kevin Love is an unbelievable pair.

No doubt.

My main point is that Cleveland is bargaining from a position of strength. See how Wiggins and the rest of the crew come along. Bennett and Waiters may flourish with Lebron and increase their trade value. I think we get the best picture of where they are as players the first half of this season.

I should clarify - I don't think Love is worth the max when you also are giving up Wiggins. I'd take Wiggins for under $7M for the next 4 years over having $63M tied up in LeBron, Irving, and Love. If I keep Wiggins I've $50M tied up in LeBron, Irving, and Wiggins. That cap room can get a nice player next year as well.

Again, it's not whether Love is worth the max, it's whether Love is worth the max plus Wiggins plus another 1st rounder.

How's that really different than going as part of a trade, but agreeing to sign long term?

In both instances, he's choosing to go there. If he would agree to a long term deal if traded to the Cavs, I don't get the difference.

u have no idea if Wiggins ever gets close to that.
No, that's why he said Wiggins has a higher ceiling.

But yea, I'd trade Wiggins for Love if that was the only way to get Love, take the proven commodity who is only 25.

I honestly laugh when people say he's a stat stuffer.

The guy is far away the best player on his team and tries to do everything because his team can't. So Bosh was a stat stuffer in Toronto as well right?

Please, the guy is one of the most well-rounded big men in the league right now playing on a shitty team. In the tougher conference. If Minnesota was in the east, he'd make the playoffs. This is the same conference that had a 48-34 team miss the playoffs where in the east that would be a #3/4 seed.

Using "no playoffs" saying he's overrated is just lazy.

ETA: Should trade Kyrie instead. LeBron has the ball most of the time anyway

Pretty much this. I honestly think that most of the people that say this have never seen him play, or get all offended that someone would say he is better than A.Davis.
