but he's doing it as a 'game manager' and not some out of the box superstar.

I've got to disagree. Tebow is a superstar. IMO, his name is just as big as a Manning, Brady, Brees. We'll no doubt agree that he's not a superstar numbers QB but as far as hype and recognition go, dude is up there with the best.

Everyone keeps saying wins are a team stat and that Tebow doesn't make the defense better. But it certainly makes you play much better and harder as a team when you have the belief that you can actually win. It's a mental edge they didn't have with Orton at the helm.

Confidence is one of the most important things in all of sports.

Agreed. Tebow might be a good NFL QB right now but he's a freaking superstar.

Ever hear of Sanchezing? No... but you sure as hell heard of Tebowing.

Big Ben won a SB as a game manager (2005).

he wasn't a game manager. He tried his best to lose that game. He threw 2 interceptions and had a 22.6 passer rating

true- but if that defense wasn't playing at this level, they'd be an absolute mess.

Their Defense has been very good the past two games, but against Oakland they werent very good and the Broncos still won.

so was Vince Young. Fame doesn't mean shite and isn't a part of this discussion.

I'm talking about as a playing QB.

i don't think you want to diss sanchez when talking about mediocre-shitty QBs gettin superstar treatment

sanchez is a superstar with national commercials and a huge following in the biggest media center in the US

Oak's D is pretty bad though, so you can't say that Orton maybe doesn't take advantage of them as well.

Point being, that their D is super important in this formula right now.

His teammates sure as shite seem to be willing to go through a wall for him. I will say this, the Broncos seem to care...A LOT. In pro sports where everyone has a certain degree of real talent, I think actually caring more than your opponent can make a bad team average and an average team decent.

Did the Broncos just not give a shite when Orton was under center? It sure seems like it.

True, but I can say that Orton lost to Oakland earlier in the season and put up less points.

Reggie Bush is twice as famous as Chris Johnson, Arian Foster, and Matt Forte. Don't mean shite when it comes to football though.

Before that final drive, here was Tebow's game stats:

Six completions and had rushed for just 11 yards in 54 minutes.

Think about that for a second.

That's not game management, that's the D bailing out the O for almost the entire game.

The thing is this is the same defense Orton was playing with.

Tebow may suck but he's clearly Denver's best option right now. 3 of their 4 losses when Orton started were by a TD or less, so Orton probably had the ball late in those games with a chance to tie/win it and wasn't able to do what Tebow has been doing over and over again.

Fox and Les Miles are in very similar positions right now. They've both (and/or their offensive coordinators) have created offensive game plans that allows their very average quarterbacks to be successful in that system. The difference is that unlike college, I doubt the zone read offense will work against real playoff teams and defenses come NFL playoff time, so there's no need to get all riled up either way about Tim Tebow's abilities. This story will naturally die down.

After all, what else do Gator fans have to cheer about this year?
