If you don't think Tiger impacted the payouts, I don't know what to tell you.

He is gonna go away eventually. Just be glad we were able to watch a 4 year stretch of some of the greatest golf ever played by one player.

There will never be one as dominant as he was. I just don't see it.

Who said he didn't? If you don't think there will be someone to follow him, I don't know what to tell you.

I wonder why sponsors have pulled out of numerous tournaments even though Tiger is still around?

Don't have one. The problem is when people would rather watch Tiger 15 shots off the lead than watch the leaders. I call those people idiots.

Most people want to watch the best and most polarizing player...

Who the hell would want to watch Kevin Na and Mark leishman battle down the stretch?

No one is arguing golf won't survive without tiger.

Just arguing the fact of what the majority if viewers want to see.

It's similar to Faldo teeing it up at hilton head this year.... People would much rather watch him on Thursday and Friday than some qualifier or alternate.... The networks know this as well

To be fair. If Tiger is 15 shots off the lead I doubt he is playing on the weekend.

I have no dog in this fight. but is Tiger the GOAT? I often wonder what his career would have been like if he had not cheated and ruined his family life in the 1st place. Interesting to think about.

Not a golf fan, a Tiger fan. Not a Miami Heat fan, a Lebron fan.

Or some just don't find golf as appealing without Tiger in the hunt. I was talking to my dad on the phone of Father's day about the US Open and he said the same damn thing. This man is nearly a scratch golfer and spends majority of his time at the golf course.

The ratings prove this. You aren't better than anyone because you enjoy watching a less exciting product.

A team sport where the teams are located in certain areas. I live in Memphis and cheer for the Memphis Grizzlies. Am I only allowed to cheer for golfers from Memphis now?

Pretty sure if the ratings are going to drop like they are saying here, Tiger fans are not golf fans. Has nothing to do with playing golf. They will not watch golf. This conversation is about watching golf not playing golf. Tiger fans will not watch golf after he leaves or the ratings will not drop.

Lebron fans will not watch or be a fan of the Miami Heat after he leaves. Sorry if you don't see the similarities.

That is the problem with young sports watchers. They have no loyalty to teams or sports. Just care about individuals. Similar to Lebron.

I've been watching golf for 40+ years. I have worked golf tournaments for all three networks.

Obviously there is a hell of a lot more coverage today than there was 40 years ago. Four days of coverage today versus coverage on the weekend 40 years ago. 18 hole coverage today versus coverage of the final 4 or 5 holes 40 years ago. Cameras everywhere today versus black & white cameras in the towers 40 years ago.

I followed Jack his entire career, from the early days of Fat Jack to his thrilling victory in the 86 Masters. He is the greatest.

I first saw Tiger in a junior tournament at the Air Force Academy in the mid 90s. Amazing talent as a teenager. He's compiled a hell of a record and the Tour pros should thank him every time they cash a check. But I think he's in the twilight of his career. I don't see him threatening Jack's major record.
