He's a little early. He usually doesn't withdraw until he's 8 or 9 over

According to his good pal Notah Begay, Woods was just not where he wanted to be with his game. Woods has always been big on entering tournaments only to win them. He apparently did not think he could do that this week in Napa, California.

Well his big ego needs to be checked because when he decides to return he will be playing for top-20's at best against a good field at the beginning.

Additionally, it seems as if Woods' return could be put on hold for a while, according to Begay, who went on to say that it's not Woods' full swing that's the issue. It's the "in-between shots." This makes sense as these are the shots Woods struggled with at the Phoenix Open last year when he got the yips. It is presumably the most difficult part of his game to get all the way back.

There it is. He still has the yips and he may never get over them either. Just think how crappy this week's field is gonna be and he still can't compete with them. Good luck with those yips.

To top it off, the tournament made arrangements for larger galleries & more security because of Tiger, all for nothing.

Best case for return is now December.

And didn't he just confirm last week that he was going to play?
