they would have to change the weekend of the tournament. it would be nearly impossible to host JF and the tournament within 2 miles of one another on the same weekend.

Is this tiger stuff for real - some individuals in the NOLA area screwed him over?

100% truth, tiger had no intention of playing in LA but this sealed the deal

I think some of those guys play in it every year because of this tournaments proximity to the PLAYERS Championship. Some of them may actually like the course, but really the only redeeming value of TPC Louisiana is that it offers some of the same sightlines players will see at Sawgrass in 2 weeks. I think they'd attract their best possible field if they got the week before the PLAYERS. It still wouldn't include Tiger, but you might get several European guys that will be in the US for that tournament anyway.

He used to not play because the it was right before the Master's. He played the course back when he was younger and it was at English Turn, but he hated it and never came back.

He basically picks and chooses the high priority tournys to play in now.

The deal was 50-50 split with charity and the city because they knew it would draw a lot of money. Tiger thought the deal was for his TW foundation. After the donation went out, the TW foundation received 0 dollars as the mayor gave it to junior golf in New Orleans like the first tee. TW being the biatch he is said he will never play in NO or La. Ever. Some said he even said even if a major was there.

Considering this is a he said/she said between Tiger Woods and the Mayor of New Orleans, I am going to go ahead and side with Tiger Woods. Hell, if it was a he said/she said between the New Orleans mayor and The King of hell Lucifer himself, I would prolly side with Lucifer

True.

IMO that's a smaller factor than most would believe. It certainly doesn't help, but NOLA has had big names before.

Several big names play tracks like Quail Hollow and it's always near the Masters and The Players.

The course is a bit gimmicky with small greens and such. Being a big hitter is definitely not required to succeed there.

Gotta look at the city of New Orleans as well - how many pro golfers live in the NOLA area? Hardly any. How many nice courses are in the metro area? Harbor Town has bigger names because that area breeds a lot of pro golfers.

A lot of pros love the Florida swing because they all live in the Jupiter area, so they can play and stay at home.

Location is a big factor.

As does Shell Houston Open. I am amazed at the pros that choose to play Houston the week before the Masters. When Zurich was week before the Masters it was :crickets:

SHO field > Zurich Field

Well there would be twice as many people there if he did play.
