Teams that get hot late are screwed. It used to be that you could get out of bounds and extend the game now you can’t.

Yes it is.

Someone commented earlier today in another thread about how awesome the college football season is but sadly January comes too fast and the season is over before you know it, which is very true.

Leave it to the NCAA to shorten games that are already so few and far between. Stupid and unnecessary rule that does the opposite of make the game better.

The running clock makes it less exciting late in the game and just plain makes the game worse. Must be to maximize ad revenue somehow.

I actually don’t hate it. They’ve just applied the NFL rules.

So add the two minute warning at the end of each half.

Nah. They offset that by stopping after all 1st downs with 2 minutes left. In the NFL they have to get out of bounds to stop the clock.

It’s good if you’ve got the lead

They need to let the entire 4th quarter be under the old rules.

Should have kept it the same for last 5 minutes of the game.
However, teams with good coaching should gain a little advantage with the new rules. I think we will be ok.

I hate the idea that you would have differing clock rules at different points in the game from a conceptual standpoint.

that's all it's about. The funny thing is they mention player safety like 10 plays will do anything to curb that. At the same time they allow a 12 team playoff where the 5th-12th team will have 2 play 4 postseason games to win a championship. With conference championship included, you're talking about a 17 game season.

Wait, the clock doesn't stop for out of bounds now? What about incomplete passes?
