The only point I'd try to make on "street fight" is that if we're looking as to who should ultimately have the most pride re: "fighting," the guy who is more likely to win in a no-weapons, no rules brawl would get my vote.

I'm not saying that to shite on Mayweather, but I do think that's a valid point to raise in response to people acting like McGregor should kill himself out of embarrassment.

Tonight was the second largest purse in boxing history. It will be interesting to see the viewership totals but I'll bet it beat Mayweather-Paciao

It's been done. James Toney got choked out by Randy Couture in 3 minutes.

Went 10 rounds in a game he is trying as a hobby

Against "The Best Ever"

So the best ever in boxing is below average for MMA

FACT.

Go back and watch the early tournaments at the inception of the UFC before there wasn't a lot of cross training

It's no different from when Holyfield won the title for a record setting time in his 40's. There just isn't any good competition out there for Mayweather. The pendulum will swing back and in a few years some new equally talented young guns will show up to match one another.

It is different. Holyfield was a heavyweight and that shite was entertaining. Mayweather -- I really don't give a crap about this technical style. This is the basic problem with boxing and it has been for 10+ years.

I don't care about the scorecard, I want to see some guys try to knock each other out. That's why MMA/UFC has gained popularity while boxing has declined.

Any MMA fans tuning in to see it were vindicating in thinking that boxing is for pussies. The amount of times McGregor got ahold of Mayweather and the amount of times boxing fans got upset when Mcgregor would hit Mayweather with an "illegal" backhand ensured all MMA fans will never give boxing the time of day again

I think you're right about MMA fans. I'm not an MMA fan, but I can say that boxing is not "fighting." I think something can be said about strategy and angles and all that, but I don't see how anyone can say Mayweather is a fighter. Everytime something that resembled a fight early, FM turned his back and ducked his head to make all the blows illegal.

I'm not huge on boxing or MMA fan, but I can say I'd be good never really watching boxing again unless a Tyson type fighter comes along. Watching guys dance around for 30 minutes isn't that appealing to me. I can respect what they do, but it's not that entertaining to me. I thought the undercard was really boring.

Affliction for life!!!

There's a few people I know personally that lost a little respect from me over this. It's not just because they thought Connor would win but they came across as complete idiots trying to talk Boxing or MMA.

You aren't suppose to punch people in the back of the head in MMA either.

FWIW.

This was a huge win for MMA because their biggest star isn't going to be a full time boxer.

Boxing just got to know that even an old Mayweather could knock out a guy who isn't a professional boxer.
