In his testimony, a car was a “vehicle,” a house was a “residence” and a gun was a “firearm.”

What I find funny is that what he is using is the terminology used in police reports.

well there's irrefutable proof here that it has happened under Urban's watch, which you can't say about the HC of every major program...

That was the biggest thing you took away from a story where a guy got shot in the eye, left for dead, and was trying to murder the other guy?

That college kids smoke a lot of weed?

that wasn't the takeaway at all. Probably 90% of kids (athletes or not) on every college campus in America smoke or at least have in teh past few months.

What is not "normal" here is that the head coach "didn't know" (although he obviously wasn't completely unaware) the scope and grand scale that this operation was going on in his program. Hernandez's situation is a liiiiittle different than a player buying a 20 sack from a dude downtown I'd say.

I'm not doubting Hernandez smoked weed while at UF. But classifying a gang banger's word as irrefutable proof is pretty amusing.

Hernandez was doing some far more outlandish shite than that while at UF.

UGA fans always have to play the high and mighty card. Remember, their program is clean while everyone else is dirty.

So are we really going to act like he was a model citizen under Meyer and suddenly turned into a psychopathic, drug dealing murderer in the NFL?

If I'm Gainesville PD, I'm breaking open some cold cases.

Was he ever arrested or charged with anything while at UF?

Well to be fair, I think that now is a good time to instill a law that condemns people who use any variation of the word 'cuck' in a non sexual situation to death via firing squad

Charged? No. Questioned for a shooting? YES.

The 2007 Gainesville shooting happened on Sept. 30, when Hernandez was a 17-year-old freshman with the Gators. The two men and a friend of theirs had left a nightclub and were in their car stopped at a light blocks away when their vehicle was fired upon, according to the statements two of the men gave to police. Corey Smith, a 28-year-old at the time who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was shot in back of the head. Justin Glass, the 19-year-old driver, was shot in the arm. Randall Cason, sitting in the back seat behind Smith, was unharmed.

quote:

Cason, then 20, told police that shooter was a "Hawaiian" or "Hispanic" male who had a large, muscular build, stood about 6-foot-3 or 6-4, weighed about 230 or 240 pounds and had a lot of tattoos. Cason said there was also a black male with the shooter, and Cason identified the black male as Reggie Nelson, a former Florida Gator who was a rookie with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nelson, in an interview with the Gainesville police, said he had been at the nightclub earlier but denied he was even on the same street as the shooting.

"As they were waiting for the light to change, the Hawaiian football player and Reggie Nelson walked up to their car on the right side," according to the police report, which cited what Cason told detectives. "Then without saying a work [sic], the Hawaiian pointed a small handgun in the front right window and fired five quick shots. Cason saw Smith slump over with blood coming out of the back of the head, at which time the Hawaiian and Nelson took off running towards McDonald's."

None of my replies in this thread have said or implied this.

The article only mentions that this guy let Hernandez go on a payment plan for weed while he was at UF.

That part of the article was reference by a poster to imply that Ohio State is willingly ignoring marijuana issues within its program. That is amusing for many reasons, one of which I mentioned (players from all major programs smoke and it's glossed over by coaches, that's common sense). To act like college kids smoking a plant less harmful than alcohol is a huge dilemma is a completely separate topic, but even more amusing.

Maybe we held team votes for the weed?

It's a typical UGA fan talking about how "while we underachieve, at least we do things the right way, dammit" that they bring up with Auburn posters on the Rant.

Oh good, now I can bring up how an LSU player was questioned in a murder since questioning matters now.
