I didn't see it, but a thread on another board said he let a sitter go and it cost him.

This is a bad loss for Nadal. I'm starting to think he will never win another grand slam tournament.

He loses early at Wimbledon even when he's playing well.

But yeah, he doesn't look like he'll ever get it back.

That was such an incredible performance. Never seen anything like it. Won't be surprised if Brown gets destroyed next round though.

Damn that was fun to watch. I hope Nadal gets his head on straight before the US open.

And people want to have Nadal in GOAT discussion.

Well, if he is done winning majors, he may be out of it. But, if he ties Fed, he has as much of a claim as anyone who has ever played. And this is coming from a Fedtard who doesn't really like Rafa.

That discussion should be between Federer and Sampras in my opinion. Maybe Nadal and Djokovic could play for the bronze in the GOAT bracket.

I was firmly in the Nadal is the GOAT club. I didn't even think it was overly debatable when you looked at it from multiple angles.

However, and people said it from the beginning that his style would lead to an extremely quick downturn so maybe it shouldn't be surprising, but his drastic fall of late is difficult to ignore.

I don't think you can really compare across generations, so the whole GOAT thing is silly IMO, but if you want to talk about it you have to include Borg in the discussion.

Even with retiring at the ridiculous age of 26 his stats are up there.

To me, Fed passes the eye test better than any of those guys, without being the absolute best at any one thing, unless you count gracefulness of movement - he moves with the greatest economy of motion that I've ever seen, though not many would argue he is the fastest. If you asked for one guy, in his prime to win one big-stage match on grass (i.e. a Wimbledon final), would it be Fed or Sampras (or even Borg)? If you asked guy in his prime to win on clay - no doubt its Rafa. Hard - Fed, Sampras, Djoker, Agassi?? Annnd...you one has to wonder how the guys at the dawn of the open era and into the 80's would've done with the new racquets. Very interesting discussion.

Goffin just annihilated Baghdatis.

Dimitrov down a set and break in the 2nd to Gasquet. Dimitrov would fall out of Top 30.

This Kyrgios/Roanic match is pretty good. I'm no fan of Roanic and would like to see Kyrgois pull off the upset, but man, Kyrgios is such a punk on the court.

Gasquet takes 2nd set as well over Dimitrov. 6-3 6-4.

Grigor looks just terrible.

Bye bye Dimitrov in easy straights. Falls out of Top 30.

Kyrgios looks like a real threat.

And apparently too dumb to realize Roanic was hurt, pumping himself up after every winner as if he was beating superman, completely oblivious to the fact that the guy on the other side of the net couldn't move. I'm not saying he shouldn't be pumped about playing well, but when you're hitting winners against a cripple, grow the frick up an get some class.

I'm sure he knew Roanic was hurt. It was pretty obvious when his movement became pretty limited. I felt like Kyrgios was simply trying to get underneath Roanic's skin even more. That game where Kyrgios returned Roanic's serve and then did a jumping jack whaling his arms from side to side after the return to simply distract Roanic was just pathetic, along with the multiple forward between the leg shots that were not done out of necessity as well as snapping pictures with the crowd in between points.
