"Paterno Family Must Fight Back Via Lawsuit

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The evidence Freeh Report (emails) is vague largely because they did not interviewkey witnesses, McQueary, Spanier, Curley, Schultz, Sandusky, just to name a few.

The family should sue the University and the BOT for wrongful termination and defamation, which causes of action survive Joe's death and belong to his estate. They could obtain all emails in discovery, including emails between Freeh and the BOTand depose the above persons once their criminal cases and appeals are resolved. It may take years and millions, but getting to the truth is better than alowing these shoddy conclusions to stand forever, even if truth turns out to be painful.

Wow. I feel so bad for the University as an institution. Would hate to go to school there right now.

Anyone still backing PSU and JoePa is just as sick as Sandusky, IMO.

Reminds me of Arkansas fans when Petrino got caught.

The spin and delusion is just sad.

This university should be closed, bulldozed and the ground salted. These people are completely fricking nuts.Every single one of them is only concerned about protecting the legacy of an accomplice to child rape, not the numerous victims.

Don't kid yourself that this type of rabid/insular fanbase is limited to PSU.

I can easily see the Rant in full defense-mode over the last 9 months if it happened to LSU...or the SEC Rant - Bama, Auburn, Arkansas...it would be apologist central.

Alabama ,auburn, and Arkansas for sure..

But LSU? People would have pitchforks and torches, marching into bocage.

I hope they do. The more the Paterno name is in the news and on people's minds the more people will realize JoePa's legacy is built on the boys he put at risk.

Agreed, although Bama is the only program I think that would come close to this. LSU's success is still relatively young and Chizik just got there not too far back, as well as Tommy just leaving. I think they would be much more pissed and feel betrayed than Penn State did and try to cover their former coaches arse in any way they could.

Saban is worshipped, along with chiz. Petrino was as well. Fans would absolutely spin and deny all accusations. Just look at Petrino when he landed in the ditch.

But with miles? Well, people would be wanting to light his house on fire.

I was born an raised here in good ole Louisiana, still live and work here, received an undergrad from LSU, an undergrad degree from UNO, and an upper level degree from Penn State.

And I have to say that what I've seen posted here is some of the biggest hypocritical, pot calling the kettle black nonsense I've seen in a long time. Plenty of PSU students and alumni have some strange fascination with JoePa and I agree that it can be strange, but have you ever been to the Tiger Rant or LSU campus grounds on game day? It's no less cult like than some of the crazy attachment people have with JoePa. Anyone that says otherwise is delusional and probably part of the LSU cult.

And this is a huge sickening story so of course wackos are going to make the news. They need to just remove the statue and get it over with. It's time for the university to move forward without JoePa, push the agenda of the victim's healing, and show how they are going to prevent this from happening again.

This is really your opinion? That someone who supports a coach who suppressed evidence is just as bad as a guy who repeatedly raped at least 12 different kids?

Yes, lsu fans are fanatical, but if les miles did something like this, people would want him run off.

How is he any better? He protected him so he could keep doing it.

I would have said the same thing about PSU fans before this happened. Stories like this really bring out the weirdos.

Every child raped after Paterno knew about it,he is just as guilty as Sandusky.Hopefully the victims will bankrupt the Paterno estate

Yes but they would defend the program and make excuses to lessen the backlash and avoid shutting down the program...what PSU fans are doing...but LSU's case, they'd probably label Miles not a true Tiger and a rogue coach who they never liked and doesn't represent them...but they'd still want to keep the titles.

The only other college that comes close to Penn State as far as coach worship is Alabama with Bear Bryant (and Saban's getting close as well). I think that Miles legacy isn't big enough yet, nor is Chizik's, to warrant this level of defensiveness.
