I have read so many times here that Saints fans are obsessed. Look. Don't get me wrong. Saints fans are some of the most delusional human beings on the planet.

BUT THEY ARE RIGHT ON THIS ONE.

Wasn't bountygate the main reason some viewed saints fans as delusional?

don't care that he's a hypocrite. What sucks is that he's reactionary and heavy-handed and sensitive to criticism. I think he's egotistical and has to always show he's in control. He brings all this shite on himself because of that. There used to be a time when the average fan probably couldn't name the commissioner. That's the problem.

Plus one billion.

Roger admitted that when he came into the league, he had to be "the Ginger Hammer" to "clean up" the league's image.

He brought this shite on himself.

No. I view Saints as delusional because they act like they are the elite of the NFL when most of their history is awful. One Super Bowl, and they were suddenly the Green Bay Packers.

You'll not find a single true Saints fan that thinks we are one of the all time elite teams in the league or compare our history to the Packers.

If anything, Saints fans are mostly extremely self-deprecating about our history.

What we do take umbrage is what our history has to do with the present. Nothing whatsoever.

We are CURRENTLY, one of the more elite franchises in the league, since 2006. Will that sustain itself post-Brees? Don't know.

But our history is irrelevant to the present.

Sean Payton missed an entire season of coaching because he couldn't control his team. When Roger sure as hell can't control the NFL office.
I have not been following this story. Can someone briefly explain how Goodell is being hypocritical? Is it because Sean Payton was punished for his mistakes, but Goodell has not been?

Genuine question. TIA

Way way way way way way way wrong. We embrace our history. That's what made our moment of glory so sweet.

You have us mistaken for Patriots fans.

And it's not like we have a graveyard for our mascots outside of our stadium, complete with a scoreboard.

Torrey Smith ? @TorreySmithWR

What Roger just said is the exact same thing that players say when they make a mistake and plead their case

Goofdell is a baffoon and Saints fans have a legitimate gripe.
