I'm still pretty damn sad over the loss but this feels different than in years past. I'm not about moral victories but this team is set for the foreseeable future imo.

- I'm more convinced than ever that Prescott is a bonafide franchise quarterback. The guy has answered the challenge all year long and just matched Aaron fricking Rodgers punch for punch in a playoff game.

- Zeke Elliott is a hoss and only 21 years old.

- Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zach Martin and La'el Collins are all 26 years old or younger.

- Dez, Witten and Beasley will all be back.

- Anyone calling for Garrett's head is a boob. He did a tremendous job this season and this is coming from a former Garrett hater.

- Jaylon Smith was a top 10 talent going into the 2015 Draft before his injury. If he's healthy like they say, he would be a massive boost at linebacker beside Sean Lee in 2017.

- Dallas needs to go defense heavy in the draft this April. Specifically at DL and CB imo.

- Speaking of CB, we should see a ton of shake up here. Carr and Claiborne are both expired, it should be interesting to see what happens with those two. Scandrick is not what he once was. Anthony Brown was extremely solid for a rookie this season.

- I love Tony Romo but this is clearly Dak Prescott's team now. Move him to somewhere in the AFC, hopefully clear a little cap space and gather some picks in the process. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he lands with a winning organization.

Could a Watt for Romo trade actually happen?

Besides the fact Houston would be payign QBs a metric frick ton of cap...this move makes so much sense.

The Cowboys had one of the easiest schedules in the league this year. Won't happen again.

Zeke and Dak are only as good as the offensive line. Better hope they keep the line intact and it stays healthy.

The Cowboys benefit from being in a bad division. You better hope those teams don't improve.

2 injury plageued players...that fill MASSIVE holes for each new team.

Obviously Dallas would need to give up some picks but Houston was just a QB away from beating Tom fricking Brady at home, thanks to having the #1 defense (without Watt).

Im smoking nothing. Just wondering if this blockbuster could ever happen?

You are fricking dumb. Houston won't trade watt for an old romo. If Houston did that they are as stupid as you.

FWIW both their salaries:

JJ. Watt signed a 6 year / $100,005,425 contract with the Houston Texans, including a $10,000,000 signing bonus, $51,876,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $16,667,571.

Tony Romo signed a 6 year, $108,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including a $25,000,000 signing bonus, $55,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $18,000,000. In 2016, Romo will earn a base salary of $8,500,000. Romo has a cap hit of $20,835,000 while his dead money value is $40,435,000.

The money could work.

I think their future is bright, assuming they see that Dak is the future, and dismiss Romo from being a distraction.

And I'm also not sure Garrett can get it done, and Jerry needs a GM and to just sit in the owner's box and look pretty on tv.

Dude, Garrett sucks, he's just a mouthpiece for Jerry jones. The last time the cowboys won the super bowl was with two coaches who didn't bend to Jerry's every will. His clock management, as was on display yesterday, is fricking laughable. He has 0 control over the locker room and is a goddamn pushover.

Claiborne, until he got hurt, was a pretty solid corner back. They finally figured out he shouldn't be playing zone coverage but should be playing man. Brandon Carr is soft as wet toilet paper.

It probably will, and you will be able to look back and say that you called it.

I like Dak ... but it will be interesting to see how he does in Year 2.

Lol

I wonder if Dallas would take Kareem Jackson for Ezekiel Elliott, I think the money could work!

I'm not as familiar with the Cowboys deeper operations as some on here, but from what I've heard, Jerry stays out of the way now. His influence has become more minimal with time. Also, Garrett has been doing well.

This is correct. Stephen Jones and Will McClay are the braintrust of the Cowboys now. They are a big reason why Dallas has been better at drafting and have become more fiscally responsible imo
