Along with Harvard was the first team to play an intercollegiate college football game. They survive simply because they have always been.

Rutgers should be a solid program, there's a lot of talent in their area. The administration just needs to go all in.

The problem is even in a non college football market Rutgers is second rate. The idea of the BIG adding them for a NYC market is laughable.

If Paterno’s Eastern League came to fruition the northeast would be much better at college football.

New Jersey produces a lot of talent but it's almost expected that you go somewhere except Rutgers... for big time talent anyway.

Even Texas has cherry picked NJ but PSU and others have a well established pipeline.
